Episode 67 of the ‘60 Minutes or less’ podcast is now LIVE and I’m hitting the road with Australian song and dance man @alkcm, a weirdo pop hero!

Since the release of debut album ‘Jumping the Shark’, Cameron has blurred the lines between performance art and genuine pop bops, putting out a series of records that are both smart and hilarious, with lyrics that are endlessly singable.

Ahead of releasing his latest album ‘Late to Set’, I caught up with Cameron over Zoom, where we spoke of fellow Aussie pop weirdo @jackladder - a previous guest on episode 57 - as well as a love of Depeche Mode, touring with @thestrokes, the good lord and - most importantly - what his lifelong friend, business partner, and saxophonist Roy Molloy (@marvelouscrane) is up to these days.

Through the wonders of the internet, Alex recorded near enough the whole thing from the front seat of his 1997 Japanese Toyota Celsior. Because of this, the signal is occasionally patchy, but such is the sacrifice for an artist and his favoured mode of transport.

I don’t like Spotify. Never have. Don’t use it. Never will. And for no other reason than that particular shade o green. A green that should never have happened. A stupid green. That, and of course that it sounds like piss. But I don’t mind piss. I even had a phase. A piss phase. I pay no mind to D. Ek’s @eldsjal apparent Ai weapons investments. Or even to the fact that streaming barely pays. Cosmic justice, I say. That said, I’m sure there are a bunch o wonderful, music loving people that work at @spotify ~ honest people that have been incredibly supportive of me and the artists I’ve worked with, people I count as friends ~ that must feel morally conflicted, all around the world, if only for that particular, lurid, viridescent shade. I have no advice to offer them.

YOU ARE GOING TO MISS ME WHEN I AM GONE isn’t on Spotify. A mere technical or administrative error. It is, however, on Youtube, Apple Muzak & more.

I wrote YOU ARE GOING TO MISS ME WHEN I AM GONE, along with DUMB ENOUGH, immediately after the ARIA’s incident and with one o my favourite former bandmates & collaborators in @rylandblackinton. Both songs are earnest reflections o my inner monologue at the time, both from the long lost KJC album ÆRTEFACT that is yet to / will likely never surface. Released in 2020 by @terrible.today, the songs largely went over heads & under radars. Personally I think they aged rather well #well #aged #personally
