It was great getting a photograph of retired television news photographer Bob Wilkinson at Cleveland Public Library’s Main Library, where he was in our Special Collections Department recording an oral history about his long career covering Cleveland news. Bob was interviewed by longtime Cleveland television legend Terry Moir, making it a great conversation between two people who know Cleveland television well. Bob was born in Cleveland at St. John’s and attended St. Rose in Lakewood as a kid. He began working in television news in 1966 and spent decades covering the people and events of Northeast Ohio. He worked for 12 years at WEWS Channel 5 and another 25 years at WJW Channel 8 before retiring in 2009.

Bob now lives in Brunswick, but much of his working life was spent carrying a camera around Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, recording the news people would later watch at home. It was good to see Bob sitting down with Terry in Special Collections and talking about some of those years in his own words. A television news photographer spends most of a career behind the camera, so I was glad to turn my camera on Bob for a change. Thanks to him for sharing his memories of Cleveland television news and for allowing me to take his photograph to commemorate his visit to Main Library.

It’s a big birthday for my mom, @terrymoir (I won’t say how big 😉)!

Anyone who has ever met my mom knows that she is possibly the best, kindest, most thoughtful, most positive, hardest working, goofiest, most energetic person on the face of the planet. I should be so lucky to even be half the person she is.

There will never be enough words to describe how much I love her, or how wonderful of a person she is (and anyone who knows us knows how much we love words 😉).

Suffice it to say she has always given @alexcheplowitz and I the moon, and my greatest wish is to give back to her at least some of what she has gifted me.

I love you, Mom! 💖 Happy Birthday!

I’ve always wanted to keep a journal, but I’m really, really bad at it. Every year I try, and every year I don’t make it past the middle of January. But this year I found 1 Second Everyday, which is basically a video journal- and I finally managed it! So here is my 2022 journal; thank you all for being part of it 💖
