When your dad has zero interest in your main character moment🤣. He’s still the greatest! More photos from the sweetest summer with my beautiful family. Also, @terranearesort is so gorgeous! Have you ever been?

Happy Birthday to our Queen, Mama Nigisti. 👑❤️ In a world that often celebrates what we have, we know the greatest gifts can’t be bought. Last night, our father raised his glass to our mother and said, “What a journey we’ve been on.” From Eritrea, to a refugee camp in Sudan, to the life they built together in Rochester, NY— what a journey, indeed!
Happy Birthday to our beautiful mother — the heart of our family, the keeper of so many prayers, and the woman whose love made so much of our journey possible. Having you here to celebrate is the gift. We love you beyond words, Mama. ❤️🙏🏾

This is your sign to keep creating memories with the people you love. ❤️

We’re deeply aware that not everyone gets the blessing of growing older with their parents, which makes us hold this season even closer.

Yesterday, we surprised and celebrated our mom with a “Mama Nigisti” pizza birthday party! 👑🍕 If you ask her what she wants to eat, the answer will almost always be pizza and fries. 😂 So naturally, we gave the Queen exactly what she wanted, with a very special cake from her new LA favorite, @sweetladyjanecakeshop. 🎂

Just her favorite things, surrounded by her favorite people. ❤️ Wish you could have joined us @nate.esquire & @thomas.yohannes (who rarely uses IG 😂).

Wedding season is my favorite season because it gives me every excuse to dress up and celebrate love. One day I told Helena, “We’re hopeless romantics.” She politely corrected me: “No. We’re *hopeful* romantics.” I’ve never forgotten that. Maybe that’s the better way to move through life—with hope. Are you a hopeful romantic too? xoxo🤍

What an honor to experience such an extraordinary and magical wedding celebrating one of the most beautiful, brightest and kindest couples I know @sarontesfalul & @peterninja_. ✨During the celebration someone asked my parents the secret to their 40+ year marriage.
Their answer was simple: “Arguments don’t sleep over.”
If they had a disagreement or misunderstanding, they addressed it as soon as possible. They didn’t let hurt, assumptions, or resentment sit overnight. They believed that allowing unresolved issues to linger gives them time to grow into something much bigger than they ever needed to be. I’m so proud to call them my parents. ❤️ dress: @loversfriendsla

This past weekend, Arsema had the joy of watching her Uncle @nate.esquire receive his third degree from the prestigious Brown University. As we waited in the rain for the ceremony to begin, our family huddled together, weathering the storm. ❤️

Later that evening, Nate shared a story about buffalo — how they face storms head-on, huddled close, and fight through them together. It reminded me of that morning, and of us. An antidote to life: together, we are stronger.

A lesson I know Arsema will feel as she grows. A lesson I so deeply cherish today.

May we all be like buffalo. 🦬

Helena
P.S. clearly Nate likes to point 😂.

My brother, @nate.esquire, just graduated with a masters from Brown University.
Yes—it’s his third degree. But his first from the Ivy League. And the first in our family.

Growing up, our father would always say,
“The only brand that matters is family—and education.” That became our foundation.

So it felt poetic—after crossing that stage, Nate didn’t ask for a big celebration. He just wanted to go back to the Airbnb… and have a quiet dinner with the people who’ve been there since the beginning.

During the ceremony, it rained. And then—just like that—the sun came out. A beautiful reminder: even storms pass.

Nate loves to say, “Tough times don’t last but tough people do.”

And today, he reminded all of us what resilience looks like. We are so proud of you, Nate! We love you!

xoxo,
Feven

It was a complete honor to be invited to give the keynote speech at my alma mater @skidmorecollege celebrating creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship at the inaugural event: START UP Skidmore.

As I mentioned in my speech, I was the “financial aid, work study student” who rarely left her McClellan dorm room without her eyeliner on. It didn’t matter if I was attending a lecture or preparing salads in the back kitchen of the campus cafe, I had a fresh face of makeup on. So years later when @thereal_feven and I launched @241cosmetics many of my Skidmore friends purchased products because it was authentic to me.

I loved how I could use makeup to make friends.

I am so thankful to the faculty and staff for the invitation and incredibly grateful my parents and @topboxersadiq could join me.

A vision come true. ✨p.s. thank you to my parents @nigistiwyohannes & @tesfa55 for the front row camera angle. 🤣😘

We believe beauty is grace and resilience. And we learned this lesson through the lens of our family’s struggles and now triumph. In other others: “resilience is in our bloodline.” — @thereal_helena ✨

Thank you @shoppeblack for sharing our story. And for demonstrating we rise by lifting one another.

Our mother is the best 🤣. This was really her all throughout Thanksgiving festivities: “Please pass the gravy…oh but did you know that my daughters are #oprahsfavoritethings?” Thank you, mama @nigistiwyohannes! And yes…”go sunshine to the world.”
