San Diego's spiritual vegans braved the stormy weather on Saturday to gather at the home of Drs. Bella & Munish Chawla in Point Loma.

After an abundant and delicious potluck (swipe to see the table!), the Chawlas shared their inspiring journey.

As full-time physicians, they saw the damage of the Western diet in their patients again and again. Then they learned from patients who transformed themselves through plant-based eating, which led them to study Lifestyle Medicine and start a foundation that focuses on preventing health problems rather than treating them later.

Along the way, their own compassion for animals expanded radically, and they became vegan together.

Munish led the most beautiful meditation.

The Chawlas are also the kindest people on earth! We are lucky to have them in San Diego after their recent move from Texas.

Thanks to all who came out! We are building a beautiful community and hope to see you again at our next gathering.

So excited for southern California’s only vegfest this year! (Let me know if there are some we don’t know about!) Bummed that other VegFest’s aren’t happening- these events are a lot of work and we need to show up and show the vendors and teams that pull these events off that they are needed! If you’ve never been to a vegfest, they’re amazing opportunities to try new foods, hear from amazing speakers, and hang out with other vegans and veg-curious folks. Hope to see you there! 🩷 #veganinsandiego #socalvegan #vegfest #sdvegfest

Recap of a beautiful @veganspiritualitysd gathering at @seasidecenter to build community, share delicious vegan potluck food, and hear words of wisdom by @kameronwaters. Amazing to see how this new San Diego chapter of @veganspirituality is growing — in just two months!

After Kameron’s talk we had a surprise appearance by filmmaker @kipanderson – Kam’s co-creator of @christspiracy and creator of “What The Health” and “Cowspiracy.” Wow, wow, wow! These guys are on fire.

Big thanks to @teskempner for sharing her powerful anthem for the animals, “We Are The Voice” — plus all the volunteers and sponsors who supported this event, and Lea Saslav for taking great photos!

🎶🌍 A powerful message. A global movement. One unified voice.

At a recent interview conducted by @wealthstrategymedia, we had the opportunity to spotlight We Are The Voice — an inspiring humanitarian music initiative created by Tes Kempner that is bringing people across the world together through compassion, unity, and purpose.

Inspired by the spirit of projects like We Are The World, this movement invites people from every background to contribute their voice to one global anthem centered around humanity, connection, and respect for all living beings.

Thousands of voices. One message.

The final anthem and music video are set to release worldwide on November 1, 2026 in alignment with World Vegan Day, creating not just a song… but a statement for a more compassionate world.

This is more than music.
This is impact.
This is unity.
This is We Are The Voice.
