Pretty sure sleeping belly-up on a dog is the coziest spot on Earth 😍❤️

@tesscarroll always considered herself a dog person, until her dog Melons completely fell in love with rescued kitten Mango. Dodo editor @tarang_thedodo caught up with her about how their unlikely friendship turned Mango into the ultimate gateway cat for the family, so when a second helpless kitten appeared on the highway, “what’s one more cat?” suddenly didn’t sound so crazy.

Paint Your Guts Out 2026 with Shine On Art and Yoga

THANK YOU brave painters for showing up!
I could try to explain what goes down here, but I’m going to let a response from one of our 2026 attendees do that…

“Amy’s workshop was a weekend of breakthroughs, emotion, and happiness! Going into this workshop, I had no idea what I had gotten myself into. I showed up ready to paint and literally left cracked open.

Through the exercises, yoga, meditations, discussions, and most importantly, paint, I found myself on an emotional roller coaster, but a good one!! I held on for the ride and never would have imagined I’d end up where I did.

Amy was a fantastic facilitator. She gave everyone the encouragement and space to truly feel everything. I also really appreciated that she was going through this process with us. It felt like we were all holding hands and moving through things together.

My painting went through so many different iterations, and each round of painting felt like a beautiful new discovery. But even after leaving Amy’s house, my painting kept talking to me. It was like I wasn’t quite done with it yet.

Huge shoutout to Tessa @lettesscook for cooking and taking such good care of us with so many yummy offerings. The chai was FANTASTIC, and you could tell everything was made with so much love.

Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better workshop. I love all of Amy’s workshops, but this one really pushed me to move through some difficult things and discover parts of myself I didn’t even know were waiting to be explored.

So much love!!
Sophia

This one is only offered once a year, I can only take 8, it is beginner-artist friendly, and it is very special!
I hope to see you in 2027🫟

Until then, Shine On Art and Yoga offers lots of technique-oriented workshops for beginners like me.

Moments in between the foggy mornings at the Richmond office, new and fun existential crises, yelling children in the van, and constant exhaustion 🤝
Still snuck in some good times this summer
