Dear great pumpkin… 💌🍂🎃

I’ve recently moved out and fairly far away, and while I’m very happy about that because it’s allowed me to be closer to many people I love and has given me new opportunities, it’s also come with challenges.

I have a lot of moments where I feel unsure of myself and insecure. Like, can I really do this? Am I doing enough? Am I enough? I tell myself I can’t waste the money or the calories on ice cream because I have to be in my “gym era” to be successful, or that I have to dedicate everything into work to be successful. That I always have to be doing everything perfectly and remain vigilant, or else I’ll lose everything and everyone.

Breaking news: apparently you can eat ice cream, go to the gym, work, and actually have a life.

Recovery and healing aren’t linear and growing into yourself isn’t always a grand epiphany. Sometimes it’s taking a walk in the park, sitting in the sun for a while, eating your favorite lunch somewhere pretty instead of rushing through it in the back room at work, reading books again, or spending time with the people who remind you that life is worth living.

I’ve been reminded that my measure of success is how much I get to enjoy spending time with the people I love. That I work so I can do nice things and enjoy life with them, not just work and work and only work.

It’s the small things repeated over and over that slowly become habits. Eventually, you realize you’re not quite as sad or unsure of yourself anymore.

This is definitely cringey, but I’ve decided to be free, and maybe this will help someone 😂

And to the people who have been there throughout all of this, thank you.

Here’s your reminder not to give up. You will find where you’re meant to be and who you’re meant to be with💕
