POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Me aro koe ki te hā o Hineahuone.

I have been bleeding poetry lately,
Trying to capture the depth of what has been stirring inside me..
There is change happening,
A great balancing…

The time is now.

Words fail to capture the experience of the last week.
I feel changed in such a profound way.
I used to dream of things like this. Tribes from around the world coming together to share culture, ceremony and connection.

I acknowledge all our ancestors who came before and stand with us now. The ancestors that planted the seeds and harvested the blades to weave these moments together for us to experience.
I honour those who live in dedication to creating these spaces. To @kyle.worl and the team for hosting us so graciously, thank you. To the Tlingit and Haida nations, thank you for welcoming us onto your sacred lands.
I revel in the shifts these moments bring.
It brought me beyond joy to share in the games, to connect and play. It felt like a week long sleep over with our indigenous brothers and sisters, abandoning full nights sleeps to stay up late and exchange the stories and songs of our people. To run together through the night, play in the snow and commune with the river and mountains.

I feel eternally grateful to everyone I met.
I feel honoured to know you all and truly overwhelmed by the generosity and love that was shared.

I hold comfort in knowing that the space in between us, the oceans between us, do not divide us but connect us.

Until we all meet again soon 🤍

Thank you @tessema.photography for sharing some of your beautiful photos

Proud to be Samoan. ✨

Thinking of the time Nafanua, the Samoan War Goddess, after winning a war flashed her breasts to the men so they could see it was a woman who had defeated them. Queen forever. 🩷
