🔬🍴Throwback, with taste, to our Science Week: “Saveurs savantes”! 🧪 From molecular gastronomy to cheese-making, our students explored the chemistry behind what we eat, including a special cooking session for our 10th graders led by Chef David from @legaragesausalito. 🥤This week was also a tasteful mix of lab sciences and social sciences. Our 4th graders measured the density of energy drinks to understand what they actually consume, using science to make informed choices. Through a sociological experiment students, alongside Jessica Gury from @teukoapp, analyzed lunch boxes and refrigerator interiors to see how our food habits are shaped by social background, and how they can reveal inequalities. 🧠How do we taste? In the lab, students explored how the tongue perceives different tastes and triggers reflexes. To wrap up this week, they got to discuss the results neurophysiologists Dr.Grouse and Dr.Kang. This gave them a chance to dive into how the brain processes taste signals one more time. Knowledge never tasted so good✨️ #WeAreLycée #ScienceWeek #SaveursSavantes #FromTheLabToTheKitchen

Last night's dinner today's school lunch. I oven-baked chicken breast cutlets for dinner last night and intentionally saved a little extra. This morning, instead of trying to figure out another lunch from scratch, I turned that leftover chicken into these super easy Chicken Pita Pizzas. This is exactly how I've been loving packing lunches lately cook a little extra at dinner and turn it into something completely different the next day. 🍗 Oven-Baked Chicken! Ingredients: Chicken breast cutlets Olive oil Cowboy butter seasoning Crushed red chili flakes Coat the chicken cutlets with a little olive oil, cowboy butter seasoning and crushed red chili flakes. Bake at 425°F for approximately 12–18 minutes, depending on the thickness, until the chicken is fully cooked and reaches 165°F internally. Let it rest before slicing. I refrigerated some overnight specifically for today's lunch. 🍕 Easy Chicken Pita Pizza! You'll need: White Greek pita Pizza sauce Shredded Tex-Mex cheese Cooked chicken, sliced into strips Small red onion, finely chopped Crushed red chili flakes Spread pizza sauce over the pita and add a generous layer of Tex-Mex cheese. Top with sliced chicken, chopped red onion and crushed red chili flakes. Air fry at 385°F for 3–5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the pita is crispy around the edges. Let it cool slightly, then cut into quarters so it's easy to pick up and eat at school. Also packed: 🍓 Sweet strawberries 🥨 Nacho cheese twisted pretzel sticks 🫐 Blueberry fig bar Everything packed in our LunchBots. If you've been wanting to try one, you can use my code saranya_thineshkanth10 for 10% off at checkout. One less lunch to overthink and another dinner leftover saved from the fridge. This is exactly the kind of realistic lunch packing I'm sticking with this school year. #SchoolLunchIdeas #LeftoverMakeover #PitaPizza #TeenLunchIdeas #EasySchoolLunches

Today’s lunchbox is super easy and straight from the freezer because some mornings, convenience wins. I air-fried crispy breaded butterfly shrimp straight from frozen, and in just a few minutes the main was done. I also added a hard-boiled egg for a little extra protein. I simply cut it in half and sprinkled Everything Bagel seasoning on top. Today’s lunchbox: 🍤 Crispy air-fried butterfly shrimp + tomato ketchup 🥚 Hard-boiled egg with Everything Bagel seasoning 🥨 Sea salt & cracked pepper pretzel crisps 🧀 Babybel cheese 🍎 Apple slices 🫐 Blueberries 🍫 Double chocolate granola bar Everything packed in our Yumbox Go. ❤️ This school year I'm really embracing lunches like this. Not everything needs to be made from scratch. Keeping a few freezer favourites around makes those busy mornings so much easier and you can still build a filling lunch around them with whatever you already have at home. Freezer lunch for the win today. #SchoolLunchIdeas #EasySchoolLunches #TeenLunchIdeas #LunchboxIdeas #FreezerLunch

Today is one of those gloomy, rainy days, and after getting less than 3 hours of sleep last night, I needed lunch packing to be as easy as possible. So I made one of my easiest comfort meals, Creamy Boursin Spinach Pasta. No complicated sauce. No long ingredient list. Just a few ingredients and DONE. And honestly, this is exactly what I'm trying to do with school lunches this year. Some days I cook more, some days we reinvent leftovers, and some days we need something that comes together in minutes. 🍝 Easy Creamy Boursin Spinach Pasta! You’ll need: Rotini pasta Boursin cheese Fresh spinach, chopped Reserved pasta water Crushed red chili flakes Black pepper Salt, as needed Cook the rotini according to the package directions and reserve some of that starchy pasta water before draining. While the pasta is still hot, add the Boursin, chopped spinach, black pepper and chili flakes. Gradually add pasta water and toss until the Boursin melts into a creamy sauce and coats all the pasta. That's it. Want to make it heartier? Add chicken or shrimp. You can also add a splash of heavy cream for an even richer sauce or a squeeze of lemon juice to brighten everything up. Also packed: 🥔 Sour cream & onion organic potato chips 🍇 Green grapes 🍓 Mini strawberries 🍫 Chocolate fudge brownie All packed in our OmieBox UP. For hot lunches, I preheat the thermos with very hot water while I'm making the pasta, let it sit, empty and dry it, then add the pasta while it's nice and hot. ♨️ And a little heads-up if you've been thinking about an OmieBox or OmieBox UP. OmieLife's Fall Sale is October 6–7 with 20% off OmieBox + UP. My ST10 code won't stack with the sale, so during the sale, using my referral link is the way to go. https://www.omielife.com/?ref=saranya_thineshkanth For regular shopping, new customers can use ST10 for 10% off. #SchoolLunchIdeas #TeenLunchIdeas #BoursinPasta #EasyLunchIdeas #HotLunchIdeas

Happy Monday! ❤️ Today’s lunchbox is all about using yesterday’s leftovers because after the weekend, the last thing I wanted was another meal to cook this morning. Yesterday I made garlic rosemary steak for lunch and spicy garlic veggie noodles for dinner, so I saved portions of both and turned them into today's school lunch. In the morning, I sliced the steak into bite-sized pieces and warmed it with a little cream to help keep it juicy. And that was pretty much lunch done. Spicy Garlic Veggie Noodles!🌶🧄🍜 Ingredients: Spicy garlic Maggi noodles + seasoning Potato, julienned Carrot, julienned Red onion, sliced Green onion/spring onion Green chili, sliced Fresh garlic Olive oil Turmeric Crushed red chili flakes Black pepper Salt A little water Method: Cook the spicy garlic noodles with the included seasoning according to the package directions and set aside. Heat a little olive oil in a pan. Add the julienned potatoes, turmeric and a splash of water and cook until they begin to soften. Add the carrots, red onion, green onion, green chili and garlic. Season with salt, black pepper and crushed chili flakes and cook until the vegetables are tender but still have a little bite. Add the cooked noodles and toss everything together until well combined. I made these for dinner and simply saved enough for today's lunch. Also packed: 🥩 Garlic rosemary steak, cut into bite-sized pieces 🥖 Sea salt sourdough crisps 🧀 Babybel cheese 🍇 Mixed grapes 🍓 Mini strawberries 🍫 Double chocolate granola bar Everything packed in our President’s Choice lunchbox. This is exactly what I'm trying to do more of this school year: cook once, intentionally save a little extra, waste less food and make the next morning easier. Not every lunch needs its own recipe. Sometimes the easiest lunch is already sitting in your fridge. Would your kids take dinner leftovers for school lunch? 👇 #SchoolLunchIdeas #LeftoverMakeover #TeenLunchIdeas #EasySchoolLunches #LunchboxIdeas

Yesterday I made a batch of my homemade protein bagels, so of course one had to make its way into today's lunchbox. 🥯 Today’s lunch was a simple Fluffy Egg & Cheese Protein Bagel Sandwich. Theeksha normally eats a good breakfast before leaving home, so I pack her lunch accordingly. Some days it's a bigger lunch, other days something simple like this with fruit and a crunchy snack is plenty. 🥯 Fluffy Egg & Cheese Protein Bagel Sandwich! Ingredients: 1 homemade protein bagel 2 eggs Splash of cream Salt Black pepper Crushed red chili flakes Butter 2 slices marble cheddar Garlic aioli Lettuce Whisk the eggs with a splash of cream, salt, black pepper and chili flakes. Melt a little butter in a pan and cook the eggs low and slow so they stay soft and fluffy. Once almost set, fold the egg into quarters right in the pan and add 2 slices of marble cheddar. Let the cheese get nice and melty. Slice the homemade protein bagel in half and spread with garlic aioli. Add lettuce, then the fluffy egg and cheese. Close it up and cut in half. Simple, warm, cheesy and filling. Also packed: 🍇 Autumn Crisp seedless grapes 🧀 Nacho cheese tortilla chips Everything packed in our President’s Choice lunchbox. This is exactly what I'm aiming for with lunches this school year not making every lunch complicated or filling every little space just for the sake of it. I pack according to what she actually needs and eats. And having homemade staples like these protein bagels ready makes busy school mornings so much easier. Homemade protein bagel recipe is in my previous reel! 🥯 #SchoolLunchIdeas #ProteinBagel #TeenLunchIdeas #LunchboxIdeas #EasySchoolLunches

Another simple school lunch for the week! ❤️ Today I made Crispy Pepperoni Pizza Bread Pockets using regular sandwich breadand they only needed about 5 minutes in the air fryer. 🍕 Iused sprouted multigrain bread, which is a little denser, so I rolled each slice slightly before filling. Then my sandwich sealer did the rest! 🍕 Pepperoni Pizza Bread Pockets! Ingredients: Sprouted multigrain bread slices Pizza sauce Shredded Tex-Mex cheese Mini pepperoni slices Crushed red chili flakes Butter Lightly roll the bread slices to flatten them a little. I do this because the sprouted multigrain bread I use is quite dense. Place one slice in the sandwich sealer and add a little pizza sauce, shredded Tex-Mex cheese, mini pepperoni and crushed red chili flakes. Top with another slice of bread and press firmly with the sandwich sealer to crimp and seal the edges. Brush the top lightly with butter and air fry at 350°F for about 5 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Let them cool slightly before packing so you don't trap too much steam and lose that crispy outside. Also packed; 🥒 Garden cucumber sticks 🍅 The cutest teeny-tiny tomatoes 🥛 Homestyle ranch for dipping 🍪 Ritz Drizzled mini fudge cookies 🥔 BBQ kettle-cooked chips Everything packed in our PlanetBox. PlanetBox shop link is in my bio. This is exactly the kind of lunch I'm loving this school year simple ingredients, quick to make and something they'll actually look forward to eating. And those tiny tomatoes… I couldn't leave the store without them. Would your kids choose pepperoni pizza pockets or a regular sandwich? #SchoolLunchIdeas #PizzaPockets #TeenLunchIdeas #LunchboxIdeas #EasySchoolLunches

Today’s lunch is basically last night’s dinner getting a lunchbox makeover. I used the garlic Parmesan chicken I had already prepped, turned it into a creamy chicken & spinach rotini for dinner, and made four-cheese pull-apart pizza buns on the side. I simply made enough to save portions of both for today’s school lunch. No separate lunch to cook this morning. This is exactly what I’m trying to do more of this school year cook a little extra at dinner, pack the leftovers, waste less and make our mornings easier. Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken & Spinach Rotini! Ingredients: Rotini pasta Leftover cooked garlic Parmesan chicken Butter White onion, chopped Fresh garlic, minced Crushed red chili flakes Italian seasoning Salt + black pepper Fresh spinach, chopped Heavy cream Freshly shredded Parmesan Reserved pasta cooking water Cook the rotini according to the package directions, reserving some of the pasta water before draining. Melt butter in a pan and sauté the chopped white onion and minced garlic with chili flakes, Italian seasoning, salt and black pepper. Add the leftover chicken and chopped spinach and cook until the spinach starts to wilt. Add the cooked rotini, a splash of reserved pasta water and heavy cream. Toss everything together, then add shredded Parmesan and stir until creamy and beautifully coated. Add a little more pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce. Today's lunchbox: 🍝 Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken & Spinach Rotini 🧀 Four-cheese pull-apart pizza buns 🫐 Blackberries 💜 Mini plums 🍫 Chocolate biscuit sticks All packed hot in one of our favourite OmieBox UPs. If you've been thinking about trying an OmieBox, my code ST10 gives new customers 10% off. Shop OmieLife with my affiliate link in bio. Same chicken. Two completely different school lunches.
