@united_court_of_austin ‘s Coronation this past weekend has been my furthest-out event, and it was joyful! It was an honor to represent the @imperialcourtri and share in the success and planning of future good work and joy.

It’s been about a year since my last post here so have some highlights! What a year it’s been. Lots of ups, a few downs, but overall I am loving the way my life is beginning to look 💚 and since I promoted TGWDLM with last years post, let me promote A Midsummer Night’s Dream that we’ll be performing in August 7-9!! 🧚🏻‍♂️

Helsa, Dieter and Katerina. Where do I begin after playing perhaps one of the most intense roles I've ever played to this date? When I auditioned for The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 back in December, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. All I knew was I wanted to get back on stage doing what I love. I never would've imagined landing the role of Helsa would push me in so many ways that I didn't think were possible but I'm so glad it did for this role truly helped me grow as an actor.

This was a challenging role for me. Combine the physical comedy, tapping into the mindset of a dark, twisted character (Dieter) and changing personalities almost instantaneously between multiple characters it was a lot! This was also the first time I played a villain in a production. There were times I thought to myself "I can't do this. Maybe I should quit." I'm so glad I didn't quit for people came up to me after each show and were all excited and told me what they loved about my performance and the show (my parents were deeply invested in the story and my mom asked me "What about Helga and Hilda? What happened to them?!")

One of the owners of the Arctic Playhouse came up to me after one of the shows and said "You absolutely owned that role! You did amazing!" As the performances went on, I was finding more ways to go bigger with my characters in little ways and allowing myself to have more fun.

I'm so grateful for this wonderful cast of people I worked with on this @vigneaucindy , @river_inthestars , @tevin1001 , @em.carts , @mackenzie.bod , @stevedavethemage ,@yes_like_the_drink (my amazing scene partner!) , @mann.r.david and Dan thank you so much for your support and your fabulous energy on stage each night! I truly had the best time working with you lovely people on this! And most of all a huge thank you to @mtskulls and Jeff for believing in me and my abilities helping to bring Helsa to life.

Now I shall say auf wiedersehen to Helsa and guten tag to @sketchrhodeisland . I'm very excited to see where this next chapter takes me in my acting journey.
