Here's a birthday pic of me and my partners in crime, dear friends who are also brilliant artists! They encourage and inspire me 🥰 It was great to celebrate with them after a long hard season of painting, working, and momming. I've got new things on the horizon and I'm excited to share them very soon! New website, Etsy launch with some new goodies, and more lovely happenings TBA. I pried myself away from my paintbrushes this month to make some things happen on the internets, y'all. No easy feat for me 🤣

In this virtual gallery talk, Delta artist Ajamu Kojo will be in conversation with Toni Phinisey-Webber from the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site to discuss "Wakanda Don’t Cry," Kojo’s painting based on the famous photo of Elizabeth Eckford, one of the Little Rock Nine. Kojo will discuss his working methods, the Arkansas Arts Center as a place of inspiration, and what it is like to be an artist working in New York City. Following the talk, Kojo and Phinisey-Webber will take questions from the audience.

Elevating artistic voices from the American South and beyond, the 62nd Annual Delta Exhibition addresses identity, place, history, heritage and power. As one of the longest-running and most prestigious juried art exhibitions in the region, the Delta Exhibition represents the Arts Center’s commitment to artists living and working in our community today – and to continuing to grow artistic talent in the region.

One of my favorite things is to zoom in on performance photos and look at the audience members' faces. Swipe all the way through... Photo by @daryltillmanphotography

#DetroitStylePizza for #Detroit G's 40th with #awesome #friends & #family.
It looks like we #colorcoordinated
the whole thing with the #blackandwhite in the foreground, and splashes of red in the background. But it was purely coincidental.
