Happy global running day !!!!

so many many reasons to be grateful and here are just a few.

running has introduced me to so many awsome people and conversations I love meeting people at races and sharing time and adventures with them.
people say running is a lonely sport and yes the training may be at times but the people you share the journey with make it all worth while.

Festive AF run! very chuffed that my @runningpunks t-shirt arrived in time for me to wear for a Christmas Eve yomp- “metal/punk Christmas Elf” is totally a look. And yes I kept the ears and hat on for the entire 11 miles. 🤣🧝‍♀️7.5 miles with my gorgeous buddies @clareox and Edit, and we also saw @tfadil en route, as a special treat ♥️! I totally didn’t want to go home after the girls had gone so ran off a bit more festive stress accompanied by Pantera, Iron Maiden, Sisters of Mercy, Korn and the Wildhearts. Because why the hell not. Merry Christmas muddy funksters. ♥️🎄🤣

Caaaaaake! I mean traaaaaack! First Tuesday of the month means the Trackbangwallop magic mile - and as per, this lot smashed it. PB’s going off all over the place... Followed by cake to celebrate Coach @embot_runs going up an age category... Happy running everyone!

Trackbangwallop Tuesday - first Tuesday of the month means we do the @trackbangwallop magic mile. And as usual half the group got PB’s and I did the exact same time of 7:42 that I have done the last three attempts! 😂 I’m taking that as progress anyway coming back from injury... I brought cake for afterwards too, as I have a special running birthday on Thursday- look out V45 category! I will be troubling no one in our club standings though as I really detest running 10k’s. 😉
The hoodies modelled by me and the lovely @clareox here are from @runnersheal - not only are they perfect for track warmups, each item purchased from runners heal buys at least one months worth of school meals for a child in Kenya. 💕

Track Tuesday! Continuing our focus on running technique and agility drills this week. An awesome session with this lovely lot. Hothothothot though!

Traaaaaack! We’re really focusing in on our running technique at the moment so it’s all DRILLS DRILLS DRILLS (to the tune of motley crue’s girls girls girls, also works with hills sessions, HILLS HILLS HILLS - you’re welcome). And less actual intervals. Although we did finish off with a couple of 120m sprints just for sprints and giggles.
Happy running

Another @trackbangwallop Tuesday where I can’t really run or do anything so am chief photographer and setter up of the agility ladder for @journeyhappyfit 🤷🏼‍♀️ At least I get to see my track mates and hang out with actual grown ups before the day with the kids! 🤣

got to admit I’m getting a leeeetle bit fed up now as each time I start to feel better and start running the calf starts feeling tweaky again. So more patience needed, and I’m not very good at being patient! 🤣

Awesome @trackbangwallop session today! I’m still taking care of my calf so jogged round while this lovely lot did their magic mile (not to be confused with Magic Mike- no posing pouches or cowboy hats required) time trial. Some impressive PB’s achieved! ❤️❤️❤️

Parkrun! Great fun running with E, as well as lots of our buddies today. She did really well, we ran very slowly but she really kept going chatting to her friend (and then took off at the finish and out sprinted her broken Mama - standard)
First run for me after a full week off, gave my calf lots of TLC yesterday and loosened it up before parkrun, plus compression sleeves and it felt fine, so fingers crossed it’s on the mend. Going to go a bit further tomorrow but will be very sensible about it!

Whaaat a soggy bunch we were this morning! 🤣 but it was a super fun super tough session despite, or because of the tropical feeling rainstorm!
Warm up and drills followed by:
5 x 2 mins run, 2 mins rest
5 x 1 min run, 1 min rest
5 x 30s run, 30s rest

Cool down
Happy running folks!
