june photo dump cause pride month was for platonic love & connection & be silly to combat the excessive amount of mental health stuff i’ve been struggling with. lots of good food, being in nature, challenging my ocd, touching moss, screaming and crying in my room, laughing and crying with my friends, and burning shit on summer solstice.

trying to find space for social media and also space to be a person and also be a student so it’s all a lot but i’m trying really hard.

I’ve been so busy with life that I’m only now getting around to documenting these past few weeks. (In the Muppet Xmas Carol Ghost of Xmas Present voice) “It was the dawn before the day of leaving!”

So many folks came out to say hi and bye, and there were so many other pictures that were taken on film, these are just the ones I have on hand from that afternoon.

One of the strangest things about saying goodbye is that you never realize how much of an impact you’ve made on people until it’s time to go. This party, though the house was empty and silverware sparse, felt so FULL of life and love and possibility! So many people made new connections in our twilight hours there that I couldn’t help but feel so happy and hopeful for everyone. It felt so good to be there, then, and know that I was part of so much joy.

There’s a quote that I will definitely get tattooed on me one of these days that goes: “Do not say that I depart tomorrow - even today I’m still arriving.” And I still am y’all, I haven’t gone anywhere, I’m still right here. Just a little further away :)

today is the day, meet me in the orchard is finally out! I’m overwhelmed by the excitement of finally releasing a project ive been working on for the last two years while also an overwhelm of anxiety that hit me last night once it was available to stream. this EP sound wise is a different from any of my music ive shared before which is scary, there is also always doubts in being a musician as the industry is not favorable to trans artists. the algorithm doesn’t favor my music posts, whenever i’ve shared my art or music it gets shoved down by platforms and it’s hard not to get caught up in the numbers or how other people perceive or think about my art. this EP really was something that helped me survive the last two years, encapsulating all the feelings of daydreaming about queer connection and love during a period of uncertainty and isolation. my music is often written about personal experiences and though this EP remains true to that it’s more taking bits and pieces of my life and weaving them into stories and fantasies not directly taken word for word by things that have happened to me. written about people who don’t exist or who i have never even met. i’m hoping something within these songs sticks to you and fits into a piece of your heart. thank you to my pal jack garrett for letting me explore what my music can sound like outside of just me and my guitar. thank you to my pal tim for driving out to various portland locations with me and capturing photos for the EP pictures. thank you to orion for putting together a cute little track list edit for me last night last minute. and thank you to anymore who takes time to give my little gay EP a listen and support me in my music, it always means the world to me.

also i’m hoping to record an acoustic version of the EP since that’s how it was originally written to give y’all another side to meet me in the orchard. 💞🍑🌳

y’all it’s getting so close to meet me in the orchard’s release date! you can now pre-save it on spotify using the link in my bio! i started writing my EP around this time last year and became sort of a coping mechanism to escape the confinement of living in a pandemic. an ode to queer yearning and romantic escapism. in the past my music i have always taken my own life and shaped that into my songs, there is nothing more cathartic than processing my own emotions by creation but since i wasn’t interacting with people in person this EP was more written by taking bits and pieces of my life and creating songs about feelings i missed experiencing and the untouchable ache of longing for people who you can’t be with. i also worked with my friend @blueblackormaybegray aka jack who helped me make more pop inspired tracks to pair with my usual guitar and heavy lyricism. it’s something new, something i haven’t really done before and im nervous but excited to share this sound with you. 🍑💞💍🏹🌳

hey folks im finally ready to announce that my EP ‘meet me in the orchard’ will be releasing this month on March 15th! along with that i will be hosting a launch party/gig at @nectarcafeportland doors will open 6 PM and show will start at 6:30. some important info about the launch party/gig:

despite the mask mandate lifting i will be requiring masks and proof of vaccine to attend the event. it’s really important to me that everyone follows and respects this. i have immunocompromised loved ones who will be attending and i do not want anyone to feel unsafe. if you aren’t feeling well please stay home. 🌸

food/drink will be available to order at the cafè!

if you have any questions feel free to send me a DM, i hope to see y’all there and im excited to finally be able to share the music i’ve been working on over the last two years.

this year was weird but if we spent some time together in between moments of lonely, fear, and overwhelm i appreciated every second. i miss regular and casual offerings of human connection so badly but im glad i got to have a few moments of that this year. 2022 im gonna be making a lot more art, doing a lot more writing, and finally sharing more music with y’all. 💞
