HOOKY SPECIAL BITTER - 35 IBU - 4.3% ABV

Style: English Special Bitter (ESB)

Appearance: Tawny red with a light tan head

Aroma: Faint caramel, dates, herbal tea

Overall Flavour: Showcasing soft caramel malts, light fruity esters of the English yeast strain & a balanced rustic hop bite

Our very own Head Brewer recently returned from an exciting trip to the UK where she represented Canada at an elite gathering of international brewers, hosted by @jd.wetherspoons . Tessa was 1 of 5 brewers chosen internationally to brew her own recipe at the @hook_norton_brewery - a 170 year old, family owned, Victorian tower brewery in England. Upon her return, she brought a sample of the brewery’s distinctive yeast strain back to Canada to make this very special Hook Norton original brew for us to enjoy. In collaboration with the fine brewers of Hook Norton, this beer is lovingly called “Hooky Special Bitter” with a nod to the nuances of an extra special bitter (ESB), the brewery in which it originated, and the specialty ingredients of the brew. This is a unique treat here at Land & Sea Brewing, available in cans and growler fills.

Our very own Head Brewer, Tessa @tg.brews recently returned from a very exciting trip to the UK 🇬🇧, where she was representing Canada at an elite gathering of international brewers, hosted by @jd.wetherspoons. Tessa was 1 of 5 brewers chosen this year; she brewed her Estuary Session Ale at host brewery, @hook_norton_brewery, a 170 year old, family run, tower brewery. Later this month people across the UK can enjoy a pint of Land & Sea’s Estuary Session Ale at one of 900 JD Wetherspoon pubs near them!
