This is only available at the lodge in Aspen.

One of my favorite things: yap about barrels to people who are interested. GIVE ME A MIC. My preciousssss.

Last week, I got to spend the night with 65 whiskey lovers at @talnuadistillery in Arvada, CO. They host member education classes and this time, cooperage took the spotlight 🥃

Normally, Zach (our ops director + my partner in crime) would be beside me to share our long history at @zakcooperage . But with a lot of travel in September + 3 kids, we rock-paper-scissored who got to go. 😇

He still got FaceTimed in for the nerdy engineering bits I needed backup on. (I’ll never forget again what moisture content wood needs to be before you should pull it for coopering 😅)

Honestly, we could talk for weeks about the cooperage industry, but I had an hour. We covered who the barrel players are, oak, used barrel markets, and why the choices we make today show up years later in the glass.

I also brought six pours from distilleries we’ve partnered with so folks could taste the barrel’s influence 🖤🖤🖤

Huge thanks to Patrick + Meagan Miller who are some of my favorite humans in the world for sharing their community (and delicious single pot still whiskey) with me.

Colorado elevation = lips dry. Heart = full.

@stranahans has a Limited Release Coming Soon. Their Founder's Release is a 12 Year old American Single Malt Whiskey at 120 Proof made with founder Jess Graber. A portion was finished in Ex-Bourbon Cask and Blonde Ale Casks from 1-4 years.

Who loves an Adventure? The other day I got to go to the Original Colorado Whiskey, @stranahans . We had a great tour thanks to Kevin, tasted through a few of their offerings and had a great time. Then I got to meet a friend that I've been talking to for a while. I can't wait to try the 10 Year Mountain Angel I picked up.

If you haven't been there yet, you really need to go check it out. Cheers my friends 🥃
