A Queer Arcana: Art, Magic, and Spirit assembles an intergenerational group of artists who explore how magic, esoteric knowledge, and spirituality have shaped queer art and culture in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The exhibition traces intersections between magical practice and major social and political movements, such as gay liberation and feminism.

Drawing on the meaning of arcana—hidden and mystical knowledge—the exhibition examines how LGBTQ+ artists have turned to the magical and the spiritual as tools for self-expression, connection, and transformation. The traditions represented are wide-ranging, including Western occultism, witchcraft and goddess worship, Christian mysticism, New Age beliefs influenced by Eastern philosophies, and beliefs rooted in Indigenous knowledge. The secret doctrines and expansive visions of these traditions have afforded artists ways to imagine life beyond repressive systems, reclaim sexuality as sacred power, and build community.

A Queer Arcana: Art, Magic, and Spirit is made possible through generous support provided by donors to Q+ Art at Palm Springs Art Museum.

Additional support is provided by the Trellis Art Fund (@trellisartfund) and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts (@warholfoundation).

2025 recap post | Happy New Year!! 🎊

So many painful moments this past year. So much heartache, pain, anger, and grief. And also, there was so much magic, joy, friendship, connection, and hope. 😭🫂

Photos cannot capture the complexity and multidimensional experiences of this past year. If anything though, I hope to offer you a couple of glimpses into special moments that made this an unexpected and unforgettable year.

Some professional highlights include:

Performing as #JosephBeuys’ dead hare at @thebroadmuseum thank to the divine Darin Klein 💗

Reading tarot at the @makcenter with @xartistsbooks thanks to @grantalexandra & @gwendavisbarrios

SO MUCH MORE HAPPENED THAT I CANT FIT IN ONE POST!

On a more personal note, I started my podcast YourArtIsASpell and had so many of my favorite people on as guests for season 1 & I’m super excited for Season 2 which I’m going to begin recording again soon!

I also started working on a book and spent much needed time away from here and other social media!

I experimented, I played, I created, iterated, failed, and started over.

Here’s to 2026 and all the fortune and blessings that are headed our way!

Just got back home to LA and I feel both exhausted and deeply nourished by my time in New York. So many sacred connections, conversations, and synchronicities!

I cannot wait to return! Overjoyed to have finally visited New York and to know that I have so many friends and colleagues there and that I will be returning again and again!

Also a huge congratulations to @gracerosarioo for her solo show exhibition at the @whitneymuseum! Was one of the most inspiring and sublime art experiences of my LIFE! Thank you for making art that is medicine and a spell 🙏🏼✨ Will be sharing more photos of her exhibition soon!

Please enjoy my #nyc #photodump both here and in my stories.

Much love to those pictured here and not. Thank you for making this trip an unforgettable one! 🥰😭🙏🏼✨

I’m in New York! 💫

Thrilled to have spent my first day in the city surrounded by art at @themuseumofmodernart, which included spending an ample amount of time sitting with @sashastiles’s A Living Poem, which is as she beautifully describes “a poem in residence.” 💚 In awe of this works candor, care, and quiet brilliance.

Feeling incredibly grateful to be visiting this city for the first time ever with @th4ddeus and to have the wonderful synchronicity of being here at the same time as @xonorika who is here as a part of @veralistcenter & @thenewschool

I’m here to be a panelist on Saturday with @jessebransford @hilmasghost & @phantasmaphile as a part of the #OccultHumanitiesConference at @nyuart

I’ll be sharing more behind the scenes in my stories 💓
