So honored to stand alongside the amazing @_tarynitup @sylviaobell @briannaarps and be featured in Essence’s 55th anniversary issue. On the cover is the legendary Susan Taylor, a trailblazer whose byline I grew up reading. Beyond grateful to @dvniellewright & @itsnandibby for telling our stories so beautifully in such a special issue.

My journey with Essence began in 2013 as a beauty intern for @iamtashaturner @iammikkitaylor @jacquelinelaurean @charreah, women who made me believe anything in this industry was within reach. It was the first time I understood that beauty could be political, cultural, and deeply emotional. At Essence, beauty was more than aesthetics, it was activism. Storytelling became a way to empower women to see themselves as beautiful, and I learned to lead with intention.
