Yay for day 1️⃣2️⃣ of #100AsianRestaurantsInTheDMV ❤ I’m super excited to feature @thaichefmd today - they’re easily one of the prettiest restaurants in MD, and I’ve loved Chalisa’s food for years. The decor was custom made in Thailand, and it’s truly a stunning space✨

I haven’t had a bad meal there, but I highly recommend their Catfish Dry Curry ($22), Tom Yum Fried Rice ($18), and Pad Thai ($18, $3 extra for shrimp) if you’re looking for recs 🙂

ALSO, they have their own popcorn line (SO freaking cool) with fun flavors like mango sticky rice, pad thai, and thai chili lime.. Chalisa sent us home with a bag of each flavor so we’ll be doing a taste test down the road 🍿

Still can’t get over Thailand, so I had to find my Thai food fix here in Maryland!

Stopped by Thai Chef in Rockville and loved the colorful vibe. The Thai iced tea was so refreshing, and the food was excellent! 😋

I love finding places around Maryland that bring a little taste of different cultures closer to home.

Pad Thai w/ Chicken + Thai Tea (Lunch Special) $17
Street cart pad thai made with thin rice noodles, tamarind juice, palm sugar, egg, red tofu, scallion, beansprout and peanut, served with two limes on the side. The rice noodles paired well with the ingredients, loved the beansprouts and slight sprinkle of peanuts.

Pad Si-Yu w/Beef + Thai Tea (Lunch Special) $20
Wok-fried fresh wide rice noodles with Chinese broccoli, egg, dark soy sauce and white pepper. The rice noodles and beef were fully cooked but the soy sauce flavor was too strong.
⭐️7.8/10

*Thai tea was a refreshing drink, pairing well with the pad thai!*
