Street World Fighter: Directors’ War — Last run | 1:1 Signature Mission — Team BADA 🩵

I’m so incredibly happy to finally share the highlight of my year 🥹 Participating in this program, being able to work with the incredibly talented @badalee__ and alongside all of these insanely amazing dancers I’ve respected and admired for a long time really felt like a dream come true to me. Never in my life did I think I would get to work with a director, choreographer and dancer of Bada’s caliber. This was truly a “pinch me” moment ⭐️ I’ve learned a lot, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

My months in Korea have been full of ups and downs, and having this opportunity happen right before I left for Italy for the summer really made me feel like I closed a circle. I cherish this experience every day, and I feel so blessed for this opportunity. I came to Korea for dancing, to find my way with dance, and participating in the show gave me the biggest motivation to keep pushing towards my goal.

Thank you so so so much @eyonaeyoworld @rehearsal_dancecompany for the casting and the opportunity. I hope this will be the first of many.

I’m grateful for all the friends I made there, all the amazing dancers I met, and the hours we spent together practicing in order to create the best performance.
Love you so much and forever, TEAM BADA!!!!! 🩵🩵🩵

being in Seoul for a few days, i wanted to share something with these friends who have given me such warm memories of what dancing in Korea was like. these people have been instrumental parts of my dance journey and it’s lovely to come home to them🥲❤️

this piece came together the morning of, and as much as i was nervous to properly session and feel out this piece with these people, i was overwhelmed by the excitement of dusting off my creative brain and trying something out of my comfort.

i’ve definitely been most comfortable dancing in a feminine bag, but these last 7 months of training in LA have given me more curiosity and comfort in a masculine canon, so i tried to give as much of that energy to this piece as i could. on top of that, i wanted to create a piece that felt impossible to execute 100% of, so the focus could shift from precision to expressing the feeling of the song/choreo. of course, lots to still work on, but i’m really inspired to see so many traces of the creatives i’ve been training under in this piece - kolanie, gheremi, sab, aaron… i love to see my work be a tapestry of the people who’ve inspired me:)

anyway, here’s to many more! i’m really hoping to enter a more creative era where i feel comfortable making and sharing things like this to the world, so here’s my first step 🤪
