As Childhood Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a month of remembrance, connection, advocacy, and meaningful steps forward.

Last month, Kham’s House joined the North Texas Childhood Cancer Coalition, supported families at the DFW Hero Games, and connected with advocates across the childhood cancer community.

At CureFest for Childhood Cancer, September 18–20, the Tribute Wall honored thousands of childhood cancer fighters, survivors, and angels—including Khamron Dawson. His photo was placed on the wall through a beautiful act of remembrance by Syr Sanders-Bailey, sister of Paula Sanders of the @jadiifoundation1277. We are deeply grateful that Kham was remembered and represented among so many lives that continue to matter. 💛🎗️🌻

And Kham’s story continues to remind us why this work matters. Osteosarcoma is most common in adolescents and young adults, with about 440 cases diagnosed each year in people 19 and younger in the U.S.

Khamron was diagnosed at 18—an age that sits within the AYA community while also intersecting with childhood and adolescent cancer care and advocacy.
So as September comes to a close, we’re not simply looking back.

We remember. We honor. We connect. We advocate. And we keep moving forward.
For Kham. For the fighters. For the survivors. For the angels. For every young person and family touched by cancer.
Together, we stay #KhamStrong. 🌻

You name it…they probably had it! 😂🍳🥓🥯🍗

Sunday brunch at @chickennpicklealtx was a whole experience—and we came ready to eat, connect, advocate, and celebrate Kham’s House!

From pizza and chicken & waffles to smoked salmon, shrimp cocktail, avocado toast, an omelette station, fresh fruit, biscuits, bacon, bagels, cookies and more…a time was definitely had! 🙌🏽

But beyond the food, we loved getting to meet fellow brunch guests, share our Kham’s House Awareness Ribbon 🎗️, explain the meaning behind our double ribbon representing sarcoma + childhood cancer awareness, and thank people for supporting our mission—even when they didn’t realize they were supporting us simply by showing up.

And of course, the baby had her camera ready to document her own POV! 📸🎥💕

A special thank-you to everyone who joined us and to Chicken N Pickle Allen for giving back 10% of Sunday brunch sales and drinks to Kham’s House.

Good food. Good people. Good cause.
And a time was had. 💛💚

What does hope mean when life has changed forever?

For Geraldine D. Cockerham, Kham’s House Advisory Board Member and Prayer Committee member, hope is faith in action—being present, encouraging others, helping them move forward, and reminding them that they are not alone.

Hope does not mean the absence of grief or hardship. It gives us something to hold onto through them.

For families facing cancer and serious illness, a word of encouragement, a helping hand, a prayer, or simply showing up can become a source of strength when the journey feels heavy.

As @cockerham.geraldine reminds us, “Hope is the blueprint to our faith.”

At Kham’s House, we believe hope is something we can share, carry, and give to one another. Together, we can help families hold on to hope. 💛🌻🎗️

GOOD night, North Texas. 💛🌻

What a day of showing up, giving, sharing, encouraging, and believing in the work of Kham’s House. 🌻🎗️

To every donor, volunteer, partner, advocate, friend, family member, and supporter who contributed in any way during this harvesting season—thank you.

Every act of generosity is part of the harvest, and we’re grateful for every person who chose to be part of it.

And if you missed yesterday, the opportunity to sow is still available. 🌱
Our giving link remains open, and there’s still room to be part of what Kham’s House is building.

Tonight, we’re not closing the book—we’re simply pausing to say:
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for believing.
Thank you for helping us do good.

And as Galatians 6:9 reminds us, we won’t grow weary in doing good. We’re still harvesting. 🌻

North Texas Giving Day isn’t really about one day. 💚💛🌻🎗️

It’s an opportunity for our community to come together around organizations doing meaningful work right here in North Texas—and for Kham’s House, it means helping more people understand the unique needs of Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) navigating cancer. 🎗️

Your support helps us build practical care, education, transportation and lodging assistance, Care Packages, future programming, and the infrastructure needed to reach the next family who needs us.

Because one gift can become part of something much bigger when a community chooses to participate.
Giving isn’t just about making a donation.

It’s about deciding what kind of community we want to build together.
This North Texas Giving Day, build with Kham’s House.

MAKE IT HAPPEN. MAKE AN IMPACT. 💛🌻

We’ve talked about the heart behind giving. Now @kaelenaubert, our Treasurer, gives us another perspective: your generosity can make a meaningful impact—and charitable giving may also offer tax benefits for eligible donors.

For 2026, federal tax rules allow eligible taxpayers who itemize to claim charitable deductions subject to applicable limits; there is also a limited charitable deduction available to certain taxpayers who don’t itemize.

Your individual tax situation matters, so be sure to consult a qualified tax professional for advice specific to you. But beyond the tax benefit? You’re helping Kham’s House turn generosity into real impact for AYA patients, caregivers, families, and our community.

Today is North Texas Giving Day. There’s still time to show up. 💚💛💪🏽🌻🎗️
