STRINGS ATTACHED (DRAMABOX, 2026)

I always tease that no amount of episodes is ever enough once I get attached to the characters. 😂 Then Strings Attached came along and hut the right chord, showing me that sometimes the best stories leave you satisfied instead of simply wanting more.😌

I don’t know... There was just something so effortlessly comforting about spending time in Sadie’s world.

It’s so chill and so music business coded with its world of social media, influencers, and the fast paced ways people become famous today. The show feels modern and current. Watching them navigate everything was smooth, with no forced melodrama or over-the-top antics, just standard life unfolding. Between the gorgeous soundtrack and the quiet, normal everyday moments, it genuinely felt like hanging out with real people trying to figure things out one day at a time.

Huge shoutout to the main trio for keeping us on replay! @eva.pari made Sadie so real it felt like reading a personal diary set to a playlist. @xavies_g as Nico had all of us hitting repeat on his scenes (certified green flag!), and @sam.huntsman as Kid Havok turned up the volume on every bit of drama. Complete track-one energy from all three!

Major respect to the team behind @knockout.shorts for bringing this story to life! Director @naomichristie DP @rayana Producer @austin.atticus with songwriters @ryann.ross @lilyhormel crafted such a grounded, refreshing piece of storytelling. They completely nailed the balance of warmth, heart, and high-quality production.

It is the kind of story that does not need huge twists to make an impact because its magic lives in the small moments we remember.

If you haven’t tuned in yet, check out Strings Attached. If you’re in the mood for something warm, nostalgic, and quietly uplifting, I have a feeling Strings Attached might be exactly what you’re looking for.

So proud of the cast of @knockout.shorts Strings Attached— a groundbreaking new YA vertical series on @dramabox_official — mainly because it required @howiemeltzer310 and myself to really dig and identify new talent we hadn’t seen before.

Now to pull back the casting curtain a bit…

@eva.pari perfectly executed self tape and singing audition made us realize she was Sadie right away. @xavies_g previously auditioned for a different project and when we learned he could play guitar, we had him (successfully) read for the better suited role Nico. @sam.huntsman originally taped for a much smaller part but in those couple lines we could see his talent and moved him into contention for the lead role Kid Kavok. @sonyarao_ and @thaliacolon auditions both gave us such unique and authentic takes on their characters that they stood out from everyone else. Watching all of their tapes helped inform and flesh out the characters in ways we didn’t expect.

There are many different ways actors can land a role and an ensemble can come together, but however it happens, there is always a lot of thought that goes behind every casting decision. And while it might not always seem it because we are so removed, I can guarantee you…casting IS paying attention. Just like these 5, if you put effort into every audition, big or small, show us your passion, and give us something authentic— it can lead you to a role you were meant to play :)
