From an idea at the start of the year… to this #thepaddleboardguy🏄🏼‍♂️🌊

When I started Coastal Kayak Co earlier this year, I honestly had no idea where it would take me.

Since then, I’ve watched more sunrises and sunsets than I can count, spotted many many seals, explored some incredible locations, shared plenty of laughs, met some amazing people and watched an idea slowly turn into something real.

There have been early mornings, long days, last-minute bookings, weather that didn’t quite go to plan, plenty of learning along the way… but also so many moments that made every bit of it worth it.

From my very first customers, to social paddles, MiniSUP sessions & yoga, collaborations, events and all the people I’ve had the pleasure of working with — it’s been one hell of a summer. ☀️🌅

And I genuinely couldn’t have done it without the people who have been part of it.

To everyone who hired equipment, came along to an event, shared a video, recommended me to a friend, followed the journey, supported the business or simply stopped for a chat — thank you❤️

Some of you started as customers and have ended up becoming friends, which is something I’m incredibly grateful for.

What started as an idea in April has become something I’m incredibly proud of.

And this is just the beginning!

We’re not stopping here. There’s still plenty more on the horizon… 🌊

More social paddles.
More SUP yoga sessions.
More Shoalstone activities.
More collaborations.
More adventures.
More people getting out on the water.
And plenty of ideas that I can’t wait to bring to life!

I’m so excited to see what next summer brings us.

🤍 A walk that’s all about community 🤍

We’re so excited to be coming together for a special collaboration, bringing women from across Devon and Cornwall together for a morning of connection, fresh air and adventure.

This walk is all about community over competition. We truly believe there’s room for all of us, and that the best communities are built by supporting one another.

Whether you’re coming on your own, joining us for the first time, or simply fancy getting outdoors, you’ll be warmly welcomed. We’ll walk at a relaxed, social pace, with plenty of time to chat, connect and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

As a thank you to everyone who has supported our communities, we’re making this walk completely FREE. 🫶

What an amazing weekend! This marks our 100th reel, and we couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate this milestone than by capturing such an incredible event in the Bay alongside friends.

This year, Torbay has been hosting the ICF SUP World Cup — a five-day event showcasing the elite skill, determination and athleticism of world-class stand-up paddleboarding athletes.

When we heard our good friend @torreviejasandman would be at Torre Abbey Sands to celebrate the event, we knew we couldn't miss the chance to capture his latest masterpieces with our drone.

Then we heard James from @coastalkayakco would be there too, and what could be more fitting than capturing some paddleboard action up close and away from the SUP competitors. If you fancy hiring a paddleboard, send James a message and he will deliver the boards and buoyancy aids straight to your door. He covers Brixham, Paignton & Torquay.

To top it all off, we had the lovely surprise of meeting @thaliawild_, who was joined by a @millie_moffat for a paddleboard session. Thalia is the founder of Coastal Gals South West, an amazing community bringing women together and creating friendships through regular outdoor meetups and adventures across the South West.

A special thank you as well to the SUP World Cup events team, who very kindly granted us permission to capture these brief drone clips on the day. The support they were delivering to all the participants was incredible, and everybody Mr Sands interacted with was so accommodating.

Last but certainly not least, congratulations to all the participants. It has been incredible to watch you out on the water and witness your talent, dedication and athleticism.
