𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮 is what a family hands down. 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗮 is the one entrusted to care for it. Many family enterprises prepare the pamana with great care: the shares, the will, the holding structure. Fewer prepare the katiwala. The next generation receives ownership while still learning how to decide together, when to defer, and who answers for what. Katiwala grows from tiwala, trust. Stewardship is the work of making that trust real: in judgment, in authority others will act on, and in accountability the family can see. This is why Thames International School has established the Thames Business Family Institute (TBFI) as an independent center of excellence for building stewardship in family enterprises to continue their legacies. Our purpose is to design and develop stewardship in business families across the Philippines and Southeast Asia. We do this in two ways: Inside business families, through confidential advising and coaching in the Family Enterprise Legacy Program. And through research on how stewardship is formed as family wealth passes to a new generation, at a time when AI is changing how every enterprise decides. What is your family enterprise preparing: the pamana, or the katiwala? Follow this page as we introduce the people and the work behind Thames Business Family Institute (TBFI). #businessfamilies #FamilyEnterprise #Stewardship

~ Lesson #1: Authentic origins matter. Seeing indigenous, raw materials transformed into export-ready fashion and home decor showed me that staying true to your roots makes a product stand out globally. Lesson #2: Stories drive value. At the “Home at FAME” setting, it was clear that buyers aren’t just purchasing a woven chair; they are buying the rich cultural storytelling woven directly into it. Lesson #3: Collaboration builds better brands. The “Design Commune” paired renowned designers with local manufacturers, proving that blending different strengths creates market-ready collections that everyone wants. The entire event felt like a live demonstration of brand positioning and audience intelligence. The brands didn’t just display items; they built their booths around the values of sustainability and nature-inspired aesthetics. They knew exactly what modern global buyers care about and packaged their cultural identity to meet that demand. It was a perfect example of social SEO brought to life in a physical space—matching the right message with the exact people looking for it. I plan to apply this straight into my daily work as a content creator. When I map out my engaging and educating content pillars for TikTok and Facebook, I will focus much more on the “why” behind a brand. Instead of just showing a product, I will dig into its origin story and cultural context, using the same organic, lifelike visual storytelling that made the Manila FAME exhibits so magnetic. @nonoylampakanay @avora.lighting @prizmicandbrill @junknot.ph @redslabpottery @coella.co @kalikature @aishefashion @fabrikahq @thamesintlasia #thamescom111 #thamescollege

Manila FAME is a tradeshow featuring the artistic creations and designs by Filipinos. From fashion pieces you can strut, furniture to spice up your home, lifestyle pieces to take home, and much more. This year’s theme, BLOOM, bloomed into more than stories. It shaped my whole experience. I chose to attend because I wanted to immerse myself in Philippine craft and see how local brands turn their work into something people want to connect with. 🇵🇭💫 [SWIPE FOR MORE ➡️] #thamescom111 Creativity has no limit, and it flourishes when you put identity into it. 🌈 Each brand stood out with its own aesthetic and style— unmistakably theirs, and that’s what makes a feed memorable too. The crowd shows the market is booming. 🎉 It was a bustling crowd, showing immense support, real demand, and that audiences respond when brands give them something worth showing up for. Design is the experience between the art and its consumer. 🎨 Like a booth, a post is a touchpoint, and every swipe and caption shapes how an audience experiences a brand. Applying what I've learned to a real-world marketing situation, it's crucial to create a narrative, a connection, and exposure. 📱 I would share a brand's backstory, foster connections through engaging content, and take advantage of a thriving market to spread that narrative. Every post would be a touchpoint that allows readers to participate in the narrative rather than merely view the product, since design is the interaction between art and its audience. 📣 I designed this carousel in a scrapbook style, layering photos of the products, the talk, and myself like pages in a travel journal. ✒️ It’s a handmade look that fits an event built around Filipino craftsmanship. Each slide also connects to the next, so the design flows as you swipe and keeps you moving through the story from the products to the talk to me in the moment. Thank you for having me, Manila FAME 🌻

MANILA FAME 2026 🌸 Manila Fame was a very meaningful and fun experience that showed how creativity can be applied to innovative ideas in home fashion and lifestyle. I always thought of it as a more elevated and artsy IKEA with its various unique showrooms. I saw how art and design can go beyond appearance such as expressing values, promoting awareness, and encouraging people to think differently. So on my second time going there, it didn’t fail to make me love it even more and it’s an event I would enjoy going to time and time again. #thamesCom111 #ManilaFame2026 #thamesinternationalschool

"A SHORT BUT INSIGHTFUL MANILA FAME VISIT" The Manila FAME is a remarkable event held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. I attended this event simply because it is the main event for the second applied week; but honestly, I'm kinda glad I did. Besides the fact that there were so many pieces to be seen, there are a remarkable few I had been intrigued. Perhaps what I liked the most was the wooden boat; setting foot on it felt like being a voyager searching for treasure across the seven seas. Somewhere in that boat I would've fancied a game of chess, but I had doubts of whether or not I'm allowed to touch things, so it is what it is but I still enjoyed eyeing the pieces regardless. Now the first talk of that day with Ms. Lay Koon Tan, co-founder of Nature Squared. Attending her talk made me realize these things: sustainability & luxury in a single sentence may seem counterintuitive but actually provide near on-par value vis-à-vis pure luxury when processed meticulously. Sustainability because their business often utilized organic materials sourced out & meticulously processed through masterful handicraftsmanship. Luxury because such processed organic materials are used even for grandiose projects such as superyachts, automotives, & artistic caligraphy like a fountain pen. Who would've thought that such organic materials can actually hide such immense potential value? Unfortunately though, my visit to Manila FAME was short-lived because not only is it a 30-minute ride from my place but I am also geniunely concerned for my safety because I've never ever went around Pasay City before aside from getting to NAIA for a vacation trip abroad. Nonetheless, I've prety much seen enough for a one-day visit. #thamesintl #thamesintlasia #thamescom111
