We’re still buzzing from this year’s Darebin Schools NAIDOC Yarning Conference at Bundoora Park Farm!

The Yarning Conference is a chance for primary school students to learn about Aboriginal histories and cultures and truth-telling, directly from local Elders and Indigenous organisations.

You can learn more about the histories and cultures of First Nations communities in Darebin via the @darebincouncil page.

Camp sovereignty.. that’s the only way I want to see you❤️standing, resisting, and fighting for freedom every breath ✌🏽
✨🦅
When I was in Melbourne, I visited Camp Sovereignty, a place of strength, love, and resistance. While working with my sisters from WALA Connection to create a dance, I had the honour of meeting Uncle Rob.

We shared stories while waiting for the girls to get ready. I looked up and saw many seagulls, so I lifted my phone to take a photo. But when we looked back at the picture, the seagulls had vanished and there, above us, was an eagle.

It was breathtaking. Uncle Rob told me he could not remember the last time he had seen an eagle flying over that sky. He said it was a blessing that we had brought into the space. And I believed him. In that moment, I felt the truth of connection , between lands, ancestors, and all of us who carry stories across borders.

Yesterday, that same sacred space, Camp Sovereignty, was attacked by 🤬🤬🤬. This violence is frightening, painful, and deeply unjust. Yet I hold onto the memory of the eagle a sign of strength, endurance, and sacred protection.

To Uncle Rob, to the community holding Camp Sovereignty, and to everyone who stands guard over land, culture, and truth: we see you, we stand with you, as Palestinians.. as humans.. we do not accept.. and we will fight and stand next to you ..

May the eagle keep flying. May the songs and dances continue. From every river to every sea..Always was always will be..

Fullaship | Intensive Day 1 & 2 Recap – Welcome to Kaurna Yarta 🖤💛❤️

We began our first in-person Intensive on Kaurna Yarta with a powerful Welcome to Country by Uncle Moogey Sumner, grounding us in story, spirit and connection to place.

Uncle Frank Wanganeen shared cultural knowledge through a Welcome and guided tour of Kaurna land, reminding us of the stories embedded in the landscape. Aunty Elaine Magias led us in a weaving session, where threads of culture, history and community came together through hands-on practice.

This time together marked the beginning of a year-long journey — one led by the strength of Culture, Community and Country, and the wisdom of our Elders. We are grateful to walk this path with their guidance.
