It has been about 10 days ago when we had this incredibly delicious Sunday Roast 🍽️with Yorkshire pudding, roasted potatoes, gravy and horseradish @themalltavern in Notting Hill in London. 🇬🇧The roast beef was out of this world as it was very tender. Extra gravy was on hand. I can highly recommend this place for a Sunday Roast. Best to book your table in advance as the place was completely packed. 😋😋😋😋#themalltavern #londoneats #sundayroastclub #london #roasties #gravy #yorkshirepudding #roastbeef #nottinghill #traditionalsundayroast #vacaymode #citybreak #citytrip #sundaylunch😋 #publife #sundayfunday☀️#kensingtonchelsea

Just Another Sunday Roast

Roast Brisket, seasoned with @angusandoink Black Gold and @colmansuk Horseradish (3tbsp Horseradish 2tbsp Black Gold). Roasted in the oven with some beef dripping for a couple of hrs at 160°C then adding the yorkshire batter for an hour to absorb all flavour in the pan, removing the Brisket when internal temp reach 92°C. Served with roasties which were cooked in duck fat, Cauliflower Cheese and Veg

It feels like Autumn today doesn't it. A last minute booking at Compton Brasserie in Soho. I feel like it's been a while since I've had a sharing plate. This one didn't disappoint. Gorgeous Garlic chicken, successful pork belly and tasty beef. With a bucket load of roast potatoes, they tasted better than they looked. Unfortunately we could not fit the last one in our bellies. Improvement could be made on the veggies, the meat was certainly the star so it feels like they were overlooked, apart from the sweet potato purée, I didn't think I'd like it but I loved it!!
Loved the Yorkshire pudding. Gravy was tasty we just had to ask for more, plus a spoon to scrape the gravy off the plate!!!

7.5/10

My first experience at Six by Nico, and it did not disappoint!
Obviously seeing a Sunday Roast theme I had to book!

Course 1 - Roast Beef Doughnut. It actually had a taste of beef walkers crisps to me, which I am not upset about. Would have liked more garlic ketchup but it was delicious.

Course 2 - Cauliflower Cheese. One of the favourite courses, if every cauliflower cheese tasted like this I would order it as a main!!

Course 3 - Ultimate Roast Potato. This was very tasty!! But the potato wasn't as fluffy as a roast potato should be.

Course 4 - Yorkshire Pudding. Now this was a bit cheeky as it was an optional course for an extra £7. But it was one of the Six 🤔 How can anyone skip this? I absolutely loved it as well, I can wish it was bigger!!!

Course 5 - Ultimate Roast Chicken. The only thing missing was stuffing and this could have been the plate to have it. A little sage crumb perhaps. The chive emulsion was actually one of my favourite parts of this plate.

Course 6 - Eton Mess. Not so much a mess but lots of fruity flavours and a vanilla creme that I could have eaten a bowl of!!!

Also had sourdough bread with beef dripping butter as a snack and I will be looking to recreate that butter!!!

8 out of 10.

A visit to the homeland, York. Took a trip to Judges Lodging a dog friendly place to eat Roast. Now they have the normal menu alongside a roast menu. Whenever a place decides to serve all foods I wonder how the roast will be, how can they give full attention to a roast if they're also cooking up Burgers!

What they got right was the vegetables, red cabbage broccoli and roasted carrots and parsnips. There was also cauliflower cheese on the plate. It was tasty but didn't have the bubbling cheese top.

The Yorkshire pudding was great too, I only wish it was bigger.
We both enjoyed the gravy, but as northerners, why would they serve us a pot of gravy!! So we had to ask for more.
More places need to learn from @blacklockchops when it comes to gravy.

I had the pork belly. The meat was really tough, a steak knife would have been helpful. There was more fat than meat and not one bit of crackling. I was disappointed.

The beef I am told was cooked very well and was very tasty.

We can't call the roast potatoes, roast potatoes... They had the skin on and were not a crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside potato.

Two different scores from both plates so overall a 6.5/10

I will stick to my theory of if you serve Roast dinners, that is all you should serve on a Sunday!!!
