A WEEK AGO!

My sweeties came together to break bread with me in celebration of the 4th anniversary of my golden birthday 🤭🥳💃🏽. It was the best day! There’s nothing I love more than laughing, eating and having a ki with my friends. I spent the whole day doing that and that is exactly what I wanted. My heart is still so full. Love you all too much. Thank you so much, @animalesbarbequeco for an amazing brunch and the great service/hospitality. I always have a lovely experience at Animales ❤️.

Allow me to reintroduce myself and to officially introduce GEZA.

Most of you already know me as an artsy, fashion-loving girl who loves good food and her community. Now, you can officially add Realtor® to that list.

As a third culture kid, the concept of “home” has always held a deeply personal meaning for me. It feels only natural that this next chapter of my life involves helping others find theirs.

Which brings me to GEZA (ገዛ), pronounced geh-zah; the Tigrinya word for house or home.

A year ago today, Chairman Meow and I boarded Delta flight 2102. Unbeknownst to him, we were leaving the only home we’d ever known and moving to LA. Moving from the midwest to a creative capital like LA was something I wanted since I was 16 years old. It just took me 15 years to do it.

When people here ask if I like LA, it’s always asked with an air of hesitation like they’re bracing for a less than ideal answer bc they “hated LA for the first seven years.” I promptly respond “I love it here.” Somehow the transition has been seamless and I feel more myself than I have in a long time. I feel energized and excited, inspired by the people I’ve met and the places I’ve wandered into.

This past year I’ve been camping & hiking more than I have in the past three years combined, somehow managed to still launch my book and get it in retail stores here in LA, become more comfortable and curious about all things Korean, collaborated with some the industry’s most talented, attended numerous creative workshops & made so many silly things, have perfected my weekly matcha runs, worked on production sets larger than ever, expanded my community of creatives and queer folks, and even promoted to associate creative director at work.

Thanks to all the homies who have made this year what it was & S/O to my number one girl @lindseykusterman for the photo but more importantly, planting the seed many years ago. She’s wifey and the closest thing to family here. No, we’re not dating, but I hope to never beat those allegations.

And in case you were wondering, Chairman has also been settling into the sunshine nicely.

New year. New career.

I am so excited to finally announce my new venture in real estate and I’m even more excited to have Mackenzie of @ownmpls mentoring me! I could not ask for a better person to take me in and show me the ropes.

This past year has been such a whirlwind physically, emotionally, and financially. But the blessing within it has been getting the time to fully look within and ask myself what it is that I really want in life.

Taking this leap is a little scary but I know having someone like Mackenzie to guide me is me all the reassurance I need. I can’t wait to serve my community in this new way and thank you all immensely for supporting me in this new chapter. Welcome to Geza ✨
