Representation matters. I love that we live in an era that's so different from the one we knew growing up. Where Desi American experiences are celebrated and represented with nuance in our movies, shows and songs. It's an era where it's not only okay be Brown — but compels deep pride in our collective cultural heritage. So thankful our kids get to inherit THIS version of the world. It all begins to undo decades of trauma, exclusion and discrimination. For me, Best of the Best does this and more. Before it was trending. Before it was “having a moment.” We were building it. 11 years ago, I started holiCHIC with a vision to blend worlds, not follow them. So much fun chatting with @thatdesispark about my journey and on what it really means to design from identity, not trend.

@archiepanjabi has always reminded me that @flight182film has a pulse of its own. Her passion, intention, and humility have shaped this journey in ways I’ll never forget. As this Oscar’s journey unfolds, I often find myself thinking, “How did we get here?” And then I realize this is our purpose. Archie, thank you for seeing me, for believing in the power of this film, and for standing beside it as Executive Producer. . . I also want to thank my dear friends @tiannanita and @outofexile, along with @isaffcanada @mnusandhu @keertanaks and @pallavisastry, for helping align the path. . . #Flight182Film #Oscars #fyc #BestLiveActionShort #WomenInFilm #SouthAsian #producer #sisterhood

As a child of immigrants, this illustration is why I have trust issues, but it's also why I too have the urge to keep every container that lands in my path. In 1966, Denmark introduced the world to @royaldanskus the most reusable, sustainable and iconic blue biscuit tin. A few years later, my parents were forced to pack their bags and leave their homes in East Africa for better pastures in Canada. They left with nothing and so it makes sense why they grip everything they get their hands on. They too have trust issues, but their carbon footprint is first class!

This year we celebrated the launch of one of our clients - @thatdesispark . Prince Bhojwani & Nita Bhojwani (the coolest sibling duo) were completely revamping TDS and brought us on to handle the rebrand. Initially we weren’t sure what the process would look like with Nita, being a supervisor at Wieden + Kennedy, and an expert at doing what we do. It turns out, the partnership was a blast. Branding projects are typically very collaborative because they have to be – most of our clients are very attached to the product / brand and have a vision that they want implemented, paired with new insights and ways of thinking that we get to bring to the table. The process with Nita & TDS was flawless, a beautiful synergy of pushing a brand into a completely different world and testing its boundaries. “I am absolutely blown away by the level of partnership, talent, and commitment shown by the Aam team. We went to them with the ask of a full rebrand and from start to finish, Afshan, Hadiqa and Drashti were absolutely INCREDIBLE to work with! Their team took the time to understand our vision and more than nailed it in bringing it to life. I cannot say enough good things about Aam - they really are the best in the business!” – Nita Bhojwani #branding #designstudio #multiculturalmarketing #brandidentity
