This caption gonna be less professional as that last one. Im excited for this. I've always been inspired by the MTV Unplugged series. That and the VH1 storytellers. Artists talking about their songs in depth. What the music means to them and their process in making the music, has always been fascinating to me. I've been looking for a while for a venue to put an event that does just that. Living room vibes... this will hopefully be the first of many. I appreciate @ahfsouth and @batteriesoldseparately for helping put this together. The purpose of the night is in observance of suicide prevention month. What better way to come together and get perosnal then through expression. Especially in a world that loves to minimize thought and feeling. These are some of the most talented friends I know. Im a big fan of each and everyone of these acts. Im finna edit this post here and there so get used to me yapping like always.

I wrote this while I was at a red light. I dont know if thats incriminating. Hope not.

Suicide Awareness Month will always be deeply personal for me.

Behind the Smiles was born from the love I have for my son, Darius, and from a promise to continue using his story and his light to help others.

Darius was so much more than the way his life ended. He was a son, a brother, a friend, an artist, and a light to so many people. His life mattered. His story matters. And his light continues to shine through every person we reach.

This month, and every month, we will continue advocating, having the difficult conversations, breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide, and reminding people that they do not have to suffer in silence.

We remember you, Darius. We love you. We carry you with us. And we will continue this work in your honor.

A special thank you to @thatfeelrecords , his friends, and his brothers who continue to remember Darius, speak his name, and keep his memory and music alive. It means more than you know.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for support. You can also text HOME to 741741 to connect with the Crisis Text Line.

Behind every smile is a story. Every story deserves to be heard.
