Have you ever come across this handpan scale before?

(A#2) F3 A#3 C4 C#4 D#4 F4 F#4 G#4 A#4

To the best of my knowledge, this note layout has never before been adapted into a handpan scale.

This instrument was developed in collaboration with my friend Debbie from @ThatHandpanLady. If you enjoy her playing, you can also find her on YouTube at @ThatHandpanLady4510.

Debbie originally approached me with a unique collection of notes she'd been playing on the piano, wondering how they might translate to a handpan and what they might sound like.

Those notes became the foundation for this scale. From there, I developed the layout and adapted them into a playable handpan.

Since the idea for the scale started with Debbie, it only felt right that she should name it: Alla Deriva 😊

I'm proud to introduce the Axiom A#2 Alla Deriva 18.

Top: (A#2) F3 A#3 C4 C#4 D#4 F4 F#4 G#4 A#4

Bottom: C3 C#3 D#3 F#3 G#3 C5 C#5 D#5

I hope you enjoy it, and I'd love to hear what stands out to you.

These Veteran families showed up seeking connection, community, peace, and love, and every single one of those things found them.
Our equine partners showed up fully, meeting each woman exactly where she was, holding space without judgment, and reflecting back what words sometimes cannot reach.
We are so grateful to the incredibly talented Deb, @thathandpanlady for filling our arena with the healing sounds of the handpan today. If you have never heard one played live, it is something that settles into your soul. The horses felt it too.
After our time in the arena the ladies gathered to reflect, share, and create their own horseshoe, sun catcher wind chimes, a little piece of today’s magic to carry home and hang where the light hits it just right.
This is what SERVS is. Women who have given so much, finally receiving. SERVS, series of equine retreats for veteran spouses. If you’re a veteran spouse, we would love for you to join us at the farm. Details and registration for the next retreat are on our website in bio.

@thathandpanlady asked me to create a piece she can place in front of her when she plays her Handpan. She wanted bling and she got a galaxy of reflective stars! #julieAnnStricklin #handpan #music #art #sign #bling #sandiego
