CREW BIO: Mikey Hounshell (@thatoldhype) was our primary back-up Sound Recordist & Boom Operator when Sebastian (@sebilevypolat) wasn’t available, and we were lucky to have gotten him on board. We didn’t skip a beat with him on sound. Mikey studied audio production at Frostburg State University. He began his professional career in 2022 and has worked a lot in the documentary space with two of them being premiered at film festivals so far: Immutable(DC/DOX Film Festival) and People vs. Politics (DC International Film Festival). Mikey has also worked in multiple reality & true crime shows such as ‘Love is Blind’ & ‘How I Caught My Killer’, as well as an assortment of short films & features such as ‘House of Dynamite’. Mikey is currently writing a short film that he plans on shooting in fall of this year (2026).

Thank you Mikey for allowing production to stay on track and for holding down the sound department. We appreciate you and we’re so thrilled to have you as part of ‘Dead Format’.
