POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We were thrilled to see so many news outlets spreading our message of epilepsy awareness during Make March Purple last month. Sharing community stories and highlighting the real-life impacts that epilepsy has on an individual is crucial to dispel myths about epilepsy and lift up the voices of those diagnosed.

ABC News Capricornia shared the story of Gladstone teacher, Kay Guascione, and her long epilepsy diagnosis journey.

Over the next few weeks, as a #MediaMonday series, we will be sharing some of the news coverage our Epilepsy Queensland community received last month.

"They’re a 10, but they think you can catch epilepsy"; "They’re a 10, but they think you can stop a seizure"; "They're a 10, but they think epilepsy is a mental illness"; "They're a 10, but they think because you have epilepsy you can't lead a full life"; "They're a 10, but they think that having epilepsy makes you unable to understand things"; "They're a 10, but they think seizures are nothing to be worried about and you can snap out of a convulsion"
