if you need me, i’ll be daydreaming about that coconut shrimp 🥥🍤🌴

the restaurant at the palm springs surf club exceeded all of our expectations! the food, the service, the drinks - everything was AMAZING & it felt like we were in a quaint little beach town having some of the most delicious food i’ve had thus far in palm springs

make sure you guys check them out & if you head there on the last few saturdays in september, head to the night swim right after for a time you won’t forget!

can’t wait to go back!

heavy on the last part 💛

happy anniversary to my sarafina. the one who’s teaching me that love can be gentle, patient, & kind. the one whose brightness beams in both the stillness & chaos of this earth. the one who i knew was to be in my life from the moment i laid my eyes on her gorgeous, affectionate soul.

i love you forever baby, to many, many more anniversaries together. ✨

emily, where the hell have you been loca?

JULY - you were a myriad of bright colors, dry/humid weather, new experiences, & mixed emotions. this month like any other was full of love & light when i looked in the right places. but, some days were harder than others. always remember that social media is a highlight reel.

i’ve taken a lot of time away from scrolling/posting for my own sanity recently. really in hopes of restoring the emily i feel like i’ve lost over the last year, due to both internal & external factors. one thing i pride myself on is being an open book, so if you’ve interacted with me in person recently you may have already known this, or you may have felt it. something that’s said to me often is that people appreciate how real i am on my social media, & in turn, i appreciate that people notice.

we live in an age where being chalant = being cringe & being real ≠ being aesthetic. it’s tiring to try to be perfect all the time to fit into a mold of how i “think” i should act on social media. i want to share more of my writing. i want to post funny pictures that aren’t the most flattering. i want to be open with my struggles, i don’t want to feel ashamed or embarrassed by them. i want to feel empowered by them.

JULY was a simultaneously joyful & painful, beautiful month. i have so much to be grateful for & trust me, i know it. may august bring just as many blessings, & may love & light continue to pour into my life. may i continue to be warmly open in a world that is so frigidly shut.

if you’re still reading this, there’s love in my heart for you & i hope you have the best august, too. ✨
