5 years into burning man and finally got to be on a build team.. and with my favorite people. this project was built for months by hand by @be__the__art & @moldamolda and then pieced together for days in the dust and wind, just for the art of it. seeing the rhetoric online about the event never makes sense to my lived experience… for every conversation about consumption and sell outs.. know on the other side of it is regular ass people donating their time money and vision just to gift others a moment of joy and expression. thank you to this rag tag team of weirdos who bled and sweat for days beside me. i love yall ♥️

there’s a popular phrase about burning man that’s pretty much a cliche at this point - “you don’t get the burn you want. you get the burn you need.”

welp. sometime around 4am Friday, to the soundtrack of heavy raindrops hitting our tent, our best laid plans getting a cosmic stamp of rejection yet again, I turned to Lola and said, “you know… I’m not convinced that we needed this” 🥴😂

we came into this year with an intentionally lightened schedule, resolved to rediscover a sense of whimsy and discovery that had taken a back seat to playing as many sets as we could the past 2 burns.

the playa had other plans.

thanks to Dustman/Weatherman, we saw less art and visited fewer camps than ever before. it was the opposite of what we wanted for this year. the thoughts of taking 2027 off arrived even before the rain did on Friday.

and yet, barely 80 hours later, we left the playa feeling more fulfilled, more inspired, more connected than ever (the shortest exodus we’ve had probably helped, too 🥲)

so much of the beauty of Burning Man is in how it humbles you, how it could care less about your plans (FYB!), and how through all of the struggle it demands before, during, and after, it never fails to deliver on what you need - so long as you stay open to receiving it

those post-rain days especially are some of the most joyous we’ve ever experienced on playa, & maybe just in life in general. plus, thanks to the dust storms and rain grounding us at camp more than we intended, we gained so much priceless time spent deepening relationships with our beloved @pinkmammothsf family. it’s those moments more than any other that made this such as a special, memorable year

there’s a bit more to share from our adventures with our playa fam this year. but for now, let this be a reminder of the power of surrender. the path life takes you on could be more beautiful and worthwhile than any plans you could ever make. ✨

oh, and don’t forget - the man burns in 353 days )’( 🧸🧡

We had such an amazing time at our first Burning Man. We were warned about the difficulties acclimating back into the real world, but I had no clue just how heavy my heart would feel. That place is magical. #burningman2026

First Burn. First time on the playa. And somehow, I’m already playing my way across Black Rock City. 🌪️

I honestly have no idea what this week is going to feel like yet, and maybe that’s the best part of it.

Different camps, different art cars, different hours of the day and night. No traditional clubs, no normal rules, just music somewhere in the middle of the dust.
