Ocean City bookstore #3! The Book Drop was the most beautiful space I’ve ever seen. Downstairs has new releases, but the upstairs used book section was the true shining star. The selection was excellent. It was so bright and airy, which you don’t often get in a used book space. I could have easily dropped a pretty penny on their merch! @the.book.drop

Yesterday I headed over to @booksandbones_lfl to drop off 4 great reads that I received from my @the.book.drop subscription program!

🍂How cute is her LFL all decorated for fall?!

I do not have enough shelf space in my house to keep every book I read, so my favorite thing to do in order to share books with others, is to drop them in local little free libraries around my neighborhood for the next reader to enjoy! 😊

⏰ Last call to use our code TEACH15 to get 15% off your first month on any book drop subscription ! ( code is good until 10/14/26)

❓ Do you ever drop off books at little free libraries when you’re done with them?

September Reads!
•
Yes, September flew by and was packed full of all the things. A diverse selection of books for the months, including a couple I really enjoyed.
•
A Diary of the Plague Year by Elise Engler* - Speaking of time passing quickly it’s crazy how long ago Covid was since it feels like yesterday. This whole book and its illustrations was such a flashback from that time.
•
When You Love Me by Beatriz Williams - This was our book club book, nominated by me. I got to meet the author at our local bookstore last month, and enjoyed reading remembering what she said on her inspirations writing the book. Overall really enjoyed both the present day bits and flashbacks to the past. A bit mystery, a bit romance, it had all the things.
•
Stories Carry by Dena Schusterman* - A memoir of growing up the daughter of a Chabad rabbi in Berkeley in the 1970s. I have thoughts on this, and hope to write more!
•
I Am You by Victoria Redel* - A historical fiction inspired by female painters living in Amsterdam in the 1600s. This book was unlike others I’ve read, and I’m still reeling from parts of it.
•
Dolly All the Time by Annabel Monaghan - I already posted about this, but it was easily my favorite of the month.
•
The Secret of the Mansion by Julie Campbell - this was our #NostalgicKidLitClub selection of the month. I never read the Trixie Beldden books growing up and enjoyed this one a lot more than I expected.
•
The Parker Inheritance by Vatican Johnson - The modern day companion to Trixie Beldon. Also, really enjoyed this one and its mystery along with the impact of segregation on today.
•
*Thanks to the publisher for my copies of these books!

📚🌊 A BEACH DAY, A GOOD BOOK & A LITTLE MYSTERY

Come explore Book Drop with me! 📖✨

As a gluten-free travel vlogger, I’m always looking for experiences that go beyond the typical tourist stops: places that let us slow down, discover something new, and experience a destination in a different way.

The Book Drop brings a little independent bookstore magic to the beach, with curated books and surprise reads for book lovers. And honestly, is there anything better than finding your next great read before heading back to the beach? 🌊📚
We loved checking out The Book Attic upstairs, where the used books are. However, this was not accessible.

I’m all about experiencing the world one bite, sip, and story at a time, while highlighting inclusive, accessible, and allergy-friendly travel experiences along the way.

So tell me…

📖 What book would you bring to read on the beach?
🌊 Are you a beach reader or a pool reader?
✨ And what hidden gem should I explore next?

Follow along for more gluten-free travel, allergy-friendly finds, inclusive experiences, local gems, food adventures, and Maryland beach discoveries!

📦THE BOOK DROP PICKS

Thanks to @the.book.drop for the #gifted Books for Potion quarterly subscription over the last year!

If you love romantasy, this is the subscription for you! The Second Death of Locke was also one of the choices but I couldn’t find it on my bookshelf. I may have too many books 😅

The Book Drop has multiple subscriptions by genre and age and supports an indie bookstore, Bethany Beach Books! There’s even a puzzle subscription! Definitely consider them as we head into the holiday season 🥰

I’ve seen so many read Annabel Monaghan’s Dolly All the Time this summer, and finally picked it up myself. It completely lived up to the hype. This was my first from the author, and now need to read more.
•
I was describing the book to my daughter (“See, they’re fake dating), and her response was, “How predictable, then they fall in love.” Which yes, but it was so much more than that.
•
Personally, I felt so much of the emotion behind it all. Scenes that weren’t necessarily that sad, had me in tears as disappointment, frustration, and the rest felt so relatable.
•
Even with the emotional punch, it still felt easy and relaxing. Overall, such a fitting book to end the summer months.

{Speaking of the perfect fit for summer, this Peach, Tomato, and Burrata Salad from @jabbys.pizza, was all that as well!}
