this book made me think of you | ★★★★.5
by @libbypagewrites

i love a good book about books/bookstores, and this one did not disappoint! i actually discovered the existence of this book when i found it on the shelf of my local bookstore :)

there’s so much life that unfolds when it comes to starting a new hook, which was beautifully exemplified throughout the writing. we follow our main character, tilly nightingale, who lost her husband, joe, to cancer. a year later, she gets a call from the local bookstore she used to shop at about an order of books made for her. little did she know, those books would guide her to find herself again.

as each month passed, seeing the recommendations of books and the letters joe wrote to tilly, you can tell they both are truly made for each other :”) it was so refreshing to see how each book is different from the previous, all representing a significant part of tilly’s life. the way joe perceived her is so beautiful, every time i read his letters, i nearly cried. if it weren’t for these books, tilly wouldn’t have stepped out of her comfort zone, take on experiences she would’ve never imagined, and meet new people from various parts of the world.

reading this book was honestly perfect timing, as i recently lost a close relative last week. seeing a character go through grief, and picking herself herself, made me feel seen. grief is not linear, the emotions stay with you, coming out when you’re reminded of those who passed. it’s how we remember our loved ones, and feel their presence, even if they are not physically with us.

this book is a great example of how we only live life once, so it’s important to live it to fullest and surround yourself with the things and people you love 🫂📚✨

ᢉ𐭩. the mirror of infinite endings ⨾ ★★★★★
by @stephanie_garber

“If I learned one thing from the mirror, it’s that no matter what, we will always find a way back to each other, Little Fox. There’s no world that will keep you from me.”

when i tell you this was my most anticipated read this year and finished it in one day…. really shows how much i missed evangeline and jacks! this book was such a joy to read, returning to the magnificent north and encountering all the characters i love.

i never thought i could have more evajacks content, and even after reading, i yearn for more!! evangeline is such a shining light, and the way she never loses her spark is so endearing to witness, especially when it falls onto those who surround her :) and jacks—literally had me swooning every single page! i relish how he lowers his guard down when he’s with evangeline, and would literally go to the ends of the earth for her :”)

stephanie truly has a way of making her characters come to life, because reading eva and jacks’ shared happy moments warmed my heart, and gave me the serotonin boost i needed! these two are truly made for each other, because no matter what, they always find their way back to one another 💖

HAPPY RELEASE DAY TO WITH YOU 🩰🏹🤍
★★★★★

i swear anything zarin writes is an absolute work of art. i love the way she sets up her stories and builds her characters’ identities. two rival ballet dancers attending university in paris, who then have to dance together? SIGN ME UP!!

amélie is one of the most strong-willed, hardworking, and dedicated woman i’ve read about. her passion for ballet is truly unmatched, even when the system overlooks individuals like her. her banter with river was the cherry on top. i was in awe seeing river standing up for himself more. plus him regaining his love for dancing was beautiful to witness. all in all, bringing more life within the characters and their words :)

many thanks to @author.zarinmadiyha for providing me the e-arc in exchange for an honest review! 🌟
