Still celebrating my birthday! 🥂✨❤️

This year, I decided not to do too much because we’re gearing up to celebrate BIG for Roddy’s 40th! But one thing about me, I’m ALWAYS going to find a reason to get my girls together! 💕

One thing I absolutely love is how, over the years, God has used me as a connector of women. Bringing amazing women together, creating spaces for genuine connections, laughter, love, and unforgettable memories is something that truly fills my cup. I don’t take that gift lightly because I know I’m walking in my purpose!

Although everyone couldn’t make it today due to the storm and other commitments, the love was definitely in the room! We laughed, celebrated, and had an absolutely amazing time.

Cheers to another year of life, beautiful friendships, and being surrounded by incredible women! 🥂✨

And one thing about us… we’re going to have a GOOD time every single time! 😂💕

Gilmore girls fall🍂🤎

I had so much fun at the gilmore girls pop up event!

My sweet cousin saw this event happening near her apartment so of course we had to go.

We unfortunately didn’t get to see the inside of the “house” because the line was pretty long and my sister just so happened to be giving birth, so we had to leave.😭

I would definitely go back and go early to see the inside!

CROWN Film 2025

This collection wasn’t just inspired by the CROWN Act. It was the result of all my experiences as a black women navigating the world while attending a PWI. Feeling out of place and out of reach of the culture I hold dear and the community I leaned on. Feeling lonely in a sea of people that don’t look like you and don’t share your experiences. And feeling frustrated, counted out and misunderstood by people that are supposed to help you. And of course dealing with racism when it rears its ugly head.

I wanted this collection to show that despite all the challenges we face, Black women will always rise and shine. We will always find a way to defy the odds. We may get knocked down but best believe we won’t stay down. We will come back better than before. It’s truly a superpower I’m in awe of to this day.

I’m am immensely thankful and incredibly proud of all the amazing, talented, powerful black women in my life. The world is a better place because of you and don’t EVER let anyone convince you otherwise. Keep shining! Also a special thank you once again to my amazing incredible team that helped me put this together and my tribe for keeping me together through this hectic experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to call friends. You guys are amazing and I’ll love you always🤎

The beauty of a black woman
The beauty of her woolen hair
And the thick lips of smiles she shares,
A warm embracing of a dimple she bare,
Smeared with Shea butter in beauty,
shiny and oily it tells a reflection story,
A dark tone of a skin
The beauty of mama Africa,
Found in the chest of a black woman.

Her strength found within her chest,
And her pride you have envied,
From the little dreams she had in many
And the future walls she is building,
Now the laughs from her penny
You have mocked
After striving from slavery,
Still her happiness is drawn in her beauty,
That is the beauty of a black woman.

She took a stroll And Her joy,
you explain on her walk,
And the bounce from her behind you wished
Whiles her curves you fancy with your dirty thought,
you knew this? but her empowerment you fought,
Now you witness her reign on the coastal forts,
As her flag blows strength
Raising dreams of the fallen ones.
That is the beauty of a black woman.

Brittany D. Cowan is a strategic storyteller and content curator with a creative flair for ensuring that both creativity and strategic thinking guide her work and life. A 2021 graduate of North Carolina Central University, she received the prestigious Chancellor’s Award for Academic Excellence, which honors students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and a strong commitment to service. Currently pursuing a master’s degree in digital communications, Brittany works as a communications and marketing content manager in higher education.
