What an afternoon, as over 150 children and their families were recipients of free outfits to head back to school! Activities, hot dogs, and other assorted snacks made the afternoon time well-spent as everyone had a great time. Special thanks to our participating partners: PEARLS Girls Closet, The Caring, and Sew4Service (along with the many wonderful volunteers that helped families shop) -- as we truly could not have hosted this event without them! Thanks to everyone that had a hand in making this a true success!!!

So far this year, Tyra Jackson, founder of "The Caring is Here", has received over 1100 pounds of hygiene products, baby supplies and PPE from MedWish through our Local Giving Program. Tyra has been able to distribute these supplies through various events she hosts regularly for families in need all around the west side of #Cleveland.

Most recently, Tyra hosted an annual easter event and a community "baby shower", where she provided diapers, wipes, books, formula, clothes, PPE and more to dozens of families (and families to be). MedWish is proud to be a part of these efforts!

MAY DAY WORKERS ASSEMBLY AND CELEBRATION. SW CORNER of Euclid Ave and Ford Dr. Sunday, May 1, 2022. 2pm. Covid sucks. We are doing so much. Things fall through the cracks. The show goes on. And, we’re building a more understanding and compassionate world. There will be birth pains and growing pains.

It’s been a long winter and hibernation period. There are worlds to be built. Spring has sprung. The plants are leading a revolution from death and decay to awakening through the literal grassroots. It’s been a holy season in this midst of global conflict, degradation, and sickness.

I still hope you’ve been enjoying times of reflection and sacredness in these holy seasons. Happy May Day! Happy International Worker’s Day! Happy Beltane! Eid Muburak! Happy Easter season! Chag Semach! There are so many people around the world celebrating 🎨 and 💡- whatever your flavor, I hope it sustains and nourishes you for what lies before us.

We will need to take drastic action in the days ahead to ensure poor people, disabled people, and people who’ve been exploited and oppressed don’t continue to be left behind as the world burns and capitalist oligarchs play games with peoples lives and families. That action goes far beyond the ballot box that corporations keep trying to control.

Every one of us deserves care. We deserve love and belonging. We can do and have done nothing alone.
