🪽Because of a promise I made to Aurora @auroramusic in 2022, I summon the grit in me to bring my film The Eyeire @the.eyeire to the world.

Thank you, Aurora, my absolute favorite artist, whose soul is at once human, divine, and animistic, for calling upon my heart and witnessing the light within me.

I promise you that I will keep doing it. You are my eternal light. I cherish you with my soul 🤍🩵

I am deeply grateful for the support that my feminist film and I have received from the Mayor of Seoul, the Korea Media Rating Board, Professor Gu of Dongseo University, Professor Park of Korea University, and fellow PD mentors.

My every step forward echoes the light of womanhood:

Feminism entails universal truth.

Last week, I had the opportunity to watch @the.eyeire at the LA Shorts film festival.

It is a powerful movie by @jiacheng.jw, which I had to the honor to write some music for ♥️

It was an amazing experience to hear my music in the theater and see my name on the credits 🥹

I finally got to see @jiacheng.jw at the LA Shorts Film Festival (her standee, technically 🥹), meet her incredibly talented team, and watch their short film The Eyeire (@the.eyeire ). 🤍

A few days before the screening, I started making this hanging piece as a gift for Jiacheng, inspired by the film and its protagonist, 涟诀. Her name has always felt especially beautiful to me — “涟” comes from 涟漪, or “ripples”: tiny waves spreading outward, quietly shifting everything around them.

It made me think of the ripples Jiacheng’s words created in my life many years ago. I finally got to turn that feeling into something I made and give it back to her. I genuinely feel like the happiest person in the world!! 🫀🌀

Still in deep gratitude & wonder sharing the news that my film The Eyeire (Thesis of @usc_map at USC, supported by @womeninmediainc & @lacountyarts ) will premiere at @lashortsfest: accredited by OSCAR® @theacademy , the British Academy of Film and Television Arts @bafta and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television and The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain @academiadecine.

In a post-apocalyptic world and Buddhist dystopia, “The Eyeire,” where human desires are prohibited and repressed, Synesthesia is the only empath with hyper-human senses who searches for a cure to her sexual assault case.
