😤 For 25 years you couldn’t catch me without a blunt in my mouth. If I wasn’t burning one, I was rolling one. If you know me, you know how I get down. I never tried to quit for more than a couple days. I even told myself I would never stop because I love that shit too much. Mary been my bottom bitch for a looong time.

But here I am at 42, and I just want different for myself. I want a clear mind and to function at my highest potential, I don’t wanna fall back into my comfort zone anymore. Above all else, I need to experience Self without any addictions or attachments… by any means necessary. If I can detach from this, I can detach from anything, anyplace, or anyone.. even you 🫵🏿 #GODBODY #NuInnerG

👑 Today marks 5 years since deciding to loc my hair. Here are 3 (short and sweet) lessons I’ve been learning that are applicable to life:

1. Growth requires patience 🌱
Growing long healthy locs naturally is a very slow process. I’m learning that meaningful transformation takes time and that rushing the process is futile.

2. Embracing Imperfection 🤌🏿
I’ve experienced thinning at the roots, breakage, and overall dissatisfaction with my locs, but I came to realize that “perfection” is a mirage. That imperfections add character and authenticity, and that there is no “end result”. Learning what works for you and what doesn’t is the journey.

3. Letting Go of Control 🫨
Learning to detach from my desired outcome. Releasing the need to control every aspect of my journey. My locs may not be “free form” but my life is lol

Now that I made it this far, Im looking forward to combining them and starting my wick journey. Soon come. 🤞🏿💯 #locjourney #locnation #loclivin
