Inspiration is everything.

For this Lunar New Year pop-up in Sacramento with Chef Anthony Vo, I wanted to create something that honored flavors I’ve fallen deeply in love with over the past decade Thai cuisine. Bold, vibrant, layered, and endlessly inspiring.

Several components of this dish were inspired by Chef Nok Suntaranon, @kuhnnok the incredible chef/owner of Kalaya in Philadelphia. @kalayaphilly Her food and perspective have been such a beautiful source of inspiration.

Being able to cook this dinner surrounded by people who love food the way I do was really special. Nights like this remind me why I cook.

One week ago in Sacramento, I had the honor of cooking alongside Chef Anthony Vo and Chef Benny to celebrate Lunar New Year.

We created a menu rooted in culture, intention, and story food that didn’t just feed you… it fed your soul.

In a world that feels loud and divided, there’s something powerful about gathering around a table. Strangers sitting side by side. Sharing. Laughing. Tasting. Connecting.

This is why I cook.
To create spaces where everyone feels welcome.
Where culture is celebrated.
Where love and acceptance are served family-style.

Food is more than a plate. It’s a bridge. ❤️

My favorites were the grilled mussels, the adidas, the oyster shooter and the branzino… the begniets rocked too!
