"How far, Kilikina? Honestly, I don’t like it here. I feel so unproductive, like my life’s on pause while everyone else is moving ahead.”

I had been ranting for nearly an hour when @kinaofafrica calmly responded, “Daniel, let’s put your skills to good use. You know a lot about interior design, right? That’ll work.”

I protested. “But I don’t have that kind of authority, and it’s been ages since I practiced.”

She ignored my excuses. After some brainstorming, she said, “Come up with three topics for a hack book by tomorrow. I’ll design a few cover options for you to pick from. You don’t have to sound too serious, but make sure it speaks to your audience. You’ve got two months to execute, and I’ll share the covers publicly if you try to slack.”

It felt overwhelming, but somehow, I followed through, and today, I’m a grateful author.

Reflecting on that season, I realize how much of a blessing quality friendships are. From timely advice to actionable guidance, purely invaluable!

I recently watched an interview with Ali Abdaal on YouTube, where the guest said something profound: "Half the time, we’re trying to be the guru, but all we need to be is the guide. In guiding, you’re forced to keep learning, and in learning, you find mastery."

This is a reminder that nothing beats doing. Your mental soundness, articulation, and analytical thinking are great but secondary to action.

So, here’s to great friendships, showing up, and doing the work. Cheers to making things happen!

Here's a very personal one for me. 20th of June, 2022, I'd be releasing a book titled "WE ALL ARE DESIGNERS".

This will be my first published book ever, but definitely not my last😊.
Since the release of the cover design, I've got quite a number of people asking what to expect from my first-ever book.
Honestly, I'm not sure I can answer that outrightly but if you grew up with a wild imagination and an ever wandering heart like mine, this is a worthy grab.
Most of us grew to discover ourselves in a pattern no one else understood other than being destructive and disorganized. We knew it was something for us, but for others, it wasn’t a welcomed disruption no matter how hard we tried.
I'm glad to tell you, you are not alone. Our creative drive all came from a place of disorderliness, chaos, wastefulness and disorganization.
No one understood us, no one ever would actually, you know why? There is a pattern! A pattern everyone grew to believe should be the norm. The way it should be, the arrangement it should follow, and how it must be. However, that your deviation isn’t allowed doesn’t mean it isn’t always right. It’s a design, it’s just yet to be accepted. You’re a designer, you’re just yet to be discovered.
As we await June 20th for an awesome release, get a rocking chair, a chilled wine, and an ever-wandering mind.
Let the countdown begin🥂
