I want to thank @the.illogical.vulcan for this post for a lot of different reasons.

I have been seeing a lot of tattoo artists come forth on abuse during their apprenticeships, and how they felt it was just the norm.

It's not.

I myself have been struggling with what I went through.

I'm so thankful and proud to see all of these artists give me the strength to talk and open up about some of the things I went through as an apprentice. How my work environment was not the best, yet I blindly stayed because I was afraid I couldn't go anywhere else, that no one would take me. That I really was just as shitty as I was made to feel.

Hearing these other artists' stories made me realize I wasn't alone. Talking to my therapist about what I went through also confirms I'm not crazy or deserving of said abuse.

It's time to change things in the industry.

And I want to be a part of it. 💖
