😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 My god have I lived a life in the last four months. From convention season kicking off with WonderCon/LA Times Festival of Books to being knee deep in SDCC prep currently I’ve:
• worked BookCon & spent time with my found fam
• went to the Met & the Broad
• saw BTS four times (my first time seeing them!)
• got my nails done, of course
• spent time with friends visiting SoCal
• celebrated my birthday, Kiley’s birthday, & Bailey’s birthday
• helped throw a surprise engagement party for Rach
• had so many reading in the park picnics <3

And surprisingly, I’ve still read a lot. I felt like I was slumping the entire time but now when I look back at all I’ve read I’m pleasantly surprised 🥰

Well, fingers crossed the next time you see a recap frol me it will just be for one month, rather than 4 🤪

⋆𐙚₊˚⊹┊april wrap up ♡

happy april everyone!! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)و my wrap up is a bit long since I wanted to include bookcon, my books read, and hudson at the end 😂 that being said I did not have the capacity to write out all my thoughts for every book I read BUT I did dive deeper into my favorites (by ann liang and chloe gong) this month🙂‍↕️

I also tried out the canva hack with making the covers look like actual books and I think I like it overall( but was I losing my mind a bit while doing it , yes). ANYWAYS, I hope everyone had a great april while crying to noah kahan's album 😭

BookCon weekend was wonderful and overstimulating and I absolutely loved getting to see everyone and there were so many indie authors and publishers to explore 🫶🏻 (I do need to work on getting over more of my shyness so I can talk to more of y'all next time, though! 😅) Special thanks to @simonmaverickaudio and the Bookwise app team for the wonderful events. 🤍

This trip also made me grateful to be in the specific part of the book community I'm in, where everyone is truly passionate about reading, supportive of each other, respectful of authors and publisher employees, and just happy to be around each other. ngl some of the behavior I saw/heard about was disturbing (publisher employees getting spat on/bruised because people felt entitled to free ARCs, general rude/mean energy, insulting book influencers for no reason, critiquing authors for their every word and move when they were probably 5x more exhausted than we were...) could never be MY book family. we're just happy to be here and spread some love and passion for reading. until next time y'all 🫶🏻

This song is perfect because the way my back went down after this convention LOL & yes all the authors were a delight I am just happy they made time for me?!

The lines were cray but the bookish community is truly the best there is! Such sweet souls and joys to be around. My life is fuller with you guys in it 💕 (we really gotta do better with this 20 max tag feature I WANNA TAG MORE)

I also found photos for people I met I didn't take photos with so LOL next time we take all the photos okay?! Just in case anyone was like I DONT KNOW HER

Forever grateful for them — the ones that I got to see this weekend, the ones I met in person for the first time, and the ones who were there in spirit. No trip to the city will ever be complete without them 🫂✨

I still need to make a full NYC/BookCon trip post but mostly I keep looking at these and crying. Being in the city for work means I don’t always get a lot of photos with friends but I treasure the handful of ones that I do get all the more for it.

You were a dream (like a fever dream that started scary but ended up super fun still)

My overstimulated self had such a good time surrounded by friends I got to see after so long and some I met for the first time irl ♥️ and authors I lucked out on meeting!
@casskhaw was so nice and @aidenschmaiden was a dream to talk to!
I went to see @tracydeonn talk at a panel and decided to try anyways to get into her standby line for signings and was successful 🥹 dreams really do come true 🙂‍↕️

Also so happy I ran into @lostinepilogue and @sleepyreaderthings 😭🫶 thank u for saying hi!! Sorry i was disassociating hard 🤪

Thank you to @simonmaverickaudio for the invite to your influencer event! Seeing a publishing office in person was really cool (also cant forget about the goodies and bookish swag 😎) so thankful!

Also got to see Hadestown on Saturday and do some bar hopping with my wife 🤓 great to visit NYC again!

😭 im gonna have major con sadness for the next week - so grateful for all the good friends I have on here. Hope to see you all again soon!
