What a night! 🍸🧠

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the first Cape Town Cocktail Week Trivia Night at Cause Effect. There were plenty of laughs, a little friendly rivalry and some impressive cocktail knowledge.

Congratulations to our winning teams: The Cookie Monsters, Diffords (Not The Guide) and The Swamp Shakers! 🏆

And another huge thank you to our sponsors – Abstinence Spirits, Arbikie Highland Rye, Patrón Tequila and Bacardí Rum – for helping us make the evening possible.

Let’s do it again soon! 🥂

This one’s for Johno.

Our very own bartender, problem solver, advice giver, cocktail crafter, and all-round solid oke is heading to Joburg as part of the World Class Top 20.

When you see him, give him a high five and wish him luck. We’re all rooting for you, mate. ⚡️

We stopped talking about what Inzalo is and simply let the people holding the glass do it instead.
Earthy. Herbaceous. Passion fruit. Fresh cut grass. Soft and velvety. A light cacao finish.
Every glass, every time, something different reveals itself.

Competitor 11: Johno - The House of Machines
He’s stepping up to the Inzalo Mystery Box Challenge, bringing a bit of edge from one of the city’s most distinctive bars.

For him, it’s about working with a strong liquid, standing alongside serious talent, and seeing what happens when pressure meets instinct.

One ingredient of his own, two from the mystery box, and twenty minutes to build something original.
And as he puts it, “Watch out… this is The House of Machines.”

Do you think Johno has what it takes? Show some support for Team House of Machines below.

The Inzalo Mystery Box has arrived at @chingadas_ct

Twelve bartenders.

Six mystery boxes.

Twenty minutes to build something original.

Each competitor brings one ingredient of their own, pulls at least two from the box, and has access to the market table. From there, it’s instinct, technique, and creativity under pressure.

Twenty minutes to create the cocktail.

Five minutes to present it.

One name that has to stick.

Judged by the distiller from Hope, the team at Chingadas, and a marketing executive responsible for bringing many of the largest alcohol brands to South Africa.

This series pits bartender against bartender and asks them to push the creative boundaries of Inzalo. Only one will emerge victorious.

It’s time to show us what happens when agave meets imagination.
