For too long, access to credit in Nigeria has been bottlenecked by one traditional question: What real estate does the borrower own?

However, the businesses actively driving Nigeria’s productive economy, such as manufacturing, logistics, and agro-processing, rarely hold their primary value in land. Instead, their true value is cushioned in operational assets, such as receivables, inventory, equipment, and cash flow cycles.

In our latest article, we explore how the Secured Transactions in Movable Assets Act (STMAA) 2017 provides the legal foundation to unlock institutional finance using these movable assets. The law is in place; what remains is the structured execution and operational discipline from both lenders and borrowers to transform Nigeria's credit culture.

Our Associates, Gbenga Ogundoye, Excellent Epelle and Roqeebat Sulaimon, attended the Capital Market Solicitors' Association 2026 Annual Business Summit held yesterday at the Lagos Oriental Hotel.

The summit, themed "Structural Resilience & Market Permanence – Anchoring Nigeria's Market Surge Beyond the Bull Run” brought together regulators and industry leaders to discuss the future of Nigeria's capital market.

The fireside chat, “Regulations to operations: Digital Assets in Practice”, examined the regulation and operation of digital assets under the Investment and Securities Act (ISA) 2025 and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Rules on the Issuance, Offering Platforms and Custody of Digital Assets. The discussion also covered the SEC's revised minimum capital requirements and highlighted the importance of corporate governance, institutional consistency, and investor confidence in building a resilient capital market.

The panel explored how Nigeria's capital market has evolved in recent years, the opportunities driving investor participation, and the importance of sustaining investor confidence as the market continues to grow. The discussion also touched on the proposed review of prescribed solicitors' fees for capital market transactions, a topic that drew significant interest from attendees.

We appreciate the insightful contributions of the moderators and panelists and look forward to continued conversations on strengthening Nigeria's capital market.

Hey Branded, (I just came up with that, but it won't be wrong if my IG fam had a name, would it?☺️)

So, guys, I visited Ife for the first time with my AIESEC in Lagos family. I engaged with many beautiful people who may or may not have made to my video, but whom I still love.

I want to specially thank @oladimeji_aa for shooting parts of the video I couldn't do by myself😂. I am waiting for you to join MaC like you promised.

PS: In April, I also started a technical writing career in Web 3.0 and blockchain. I finally wanted to have specific knowledge. It has been a beautiful journey. You can find some of the articles I have written in my bio.
