In the lead‑up to one year since our SBID win, for the "Contract fit-out of the year" we’re revisiting the moment the announcement was read out.
No dramatic reactions, just genuine pride shared across the table — a simple, honest moment that meant a lot to our team.
It marked the start of an achievement we’ll always celebrate, and a reminder of what collaboration, detail and delivery can achieve.

Good luck to everyone taking part in this years awards!

A lovely moment to share my story and the journey behind Nisi Maison with the Society of British & International Interior Design (SBID).

In this interview, I reflect on what first drew me to interior design, the experiences that have shaped my approach, and what it means to build a studio around a genuine love for thoughtful, personal interiors.

Thank you to @the.sbid for the opportunity to share a little more about my work and the vision behind Nisi Maison.

The heart of the home.
A kitchen defined by materiality, craftsmanship and considered detail.
At Bloomfield Residence, statement stone, bespoke joinery and carefully resolved finishes give the space its depth and character, with every element designed to feel cohesive, refined and enduring.
Created in collaboration with @diane_berry_kitchens , the award-winning result is a real showcase of the quality and attention to detail behind the project.
From architectural shell to considered home.

MY @decorex_international 2026 ROUND UP FROM YESTERDAY’S VISIT.

1. Bee lined to see my friends - founders Lee and Ian @thesoholightingco to see their inspirational new lighting technology and new design ranges.

2. Sourced potential new tapestry inspired wall coverings @artewalls for a large 2027 country house project.

3. Met up for a drink with the wonderful founder of @design__align - Katy and other lovely designers. Such a genuinely brilliant human being and authentic guide in our industry.

4. VIP lounge was a ski chalet this year - some perfect different areas to hide away and catch some time to relax and get ready for the next walk about on the floor. Thank you @the.sbid for inviting me.

5. Decorex wouldn’t be the same without catching up either my amazing partners - especially @rachel_rigby_linwood at @linwood_fabric to see their colourful new fabric collections.

Back in the studio today with a heavy day of meetings after my London visit all day yesterday.

Lazy Sunday vibes, Du Bois style 🤍

A bedroom made for slow mornings and staying a little longer beneath the covers. Soft, layered linens, warm timber overhead and pale oak underfoot create a calm, natural retreat, while expansive glazing draws the rolling Te Arai landscape and distant sea right into the room.

Part of The Next Chapter — @sbidawards international finalist project - a home designed to feel connected to its beautiful setting, and wonderfully easy to unwind in.

The design of the ensuites in our Nobu Residences Park Meadows Amsterdam project was based on the philosophy of bringing the outdoors in. Curved forms and fluid motions were implemented to create a calming environment, whilst the natural landscape was brought into the interiors through textured finishes and natural stone surfaces.

We are among the chosen practices to receive the @the.sbid Regional Award for our Nobu Residences Park Meadows Amsterdam project in the CGI & Visualisation category.

Well, one final Whiteley post from me…
The project has won the SBID Residential Apartment Over £1M – London award.
.
Very proud, very grateful, and also quite relieved I no longer need to ask anyone to vote for anything.
.
A huge thank you to our clients for trusting us, and to all the brilliant hands behind the project. So much care, skill and thought went into this home, and it is lovely to see that recognised.
A very nice way to close this chapter.
.
Now, aside from navigating home and the studio, I need to turn my attention to September Design Month.
There is so much happening across London that the challenge is deciding what to fit in. But I love this time of year. Getting away from the screen, seeing things properly, touching materials, talking to makers, visiting showrooms and exhibitions, and having conversations in real life.
There is so much to be said for experiencing design rather than just saving it to a folder.
And for a studio like ours, that constant looking, talking, noticing and absorbing always finds its way back into the work.
Very lucky to have so much of it right on our doorstep.
.
