FOR THE COMMUNITY ~ BY THE COMMUNITY 🧡

More than a slogan, tagline or throwaway catchphrase. It’s a moral compass, a guiding principle that keeps us grounded as we navigate this Babylon system.

At its core, this is community architecture. Building spaces, creating pathways, nurturing relationships and establishing cultural infrastructure rooted in the people and places that give it meaning.

Collectively, we’re breaking barriers, challenging perceptions and reshaping the narrative of what grassroots music represents. Our culture doesn’t need corporate validation to hold value. Its worth has always existed within the communities that create, sustain and carry it forward.

We will continue to challenge systems that overlook grassroots culture until there’s something to extract from it. Genuine investment, equitable collaboration and shared ownership must take precedence over exploitation.

WE BUILT THIS. Through unity, resilience and arduous devotion. Not through permission, but through participation, collective action and a belief in what our communities are capable of achieving.

Grateful to have brought In The Cut x Decoded back to the Loose Lips Stage at Crossed Wires Podcast Festival for a second consecutive year @leahsyard

This year’s conversation explored the barbershop as more than a place for a haircut. It’s a space for healing, community, governance, accountability and positive reinforcement, particularly for Black men, but with lessons that resonate across all conversations around mental health and wellbeing.

A huge thank you to Crossed Wires Podcast Festival for the opportunity to create space for these conversations and to explore a place that has long been sacred to so many communities.

Sometimes the most important conversations happen in the chair 🤍

Immensely grateful to @migmatfest for helping us come full circle with The Matter of Migration podcast/installation project as we release the final two episodes of the current series to great acclaim!

For the past week, the installation designed and crafted by @decor_don has received an equal amount of praise - being referred to as "a treasure" and "a kind of sanctuary" as visitors reached the top floor of The Montgomery Theatre.
As we took down the installation, curious minds still turned up and watched The Pod being disassembled, whilst listening to the episodes on our Mp3 players.
A different way of taking it all in, conveying a sense of the ephemeral and emphasisng the project's nomadic nature.
Thanks everyone for your feedback!
Also wish to thank this year's amazing volunteers and the entire festival crew for delivering, once again, a unique experience to Sheffield.
