Finnian is a singer-songwriter from Dundalk, Ireland, whose music sits at the intersection of folk, Americana, country and soul. With a powerful, soulful voice and a gift for honest, compelling storytelling, he remains rooted in the classic singer-songwriter tradition while bringing a distinctly Irish perspective to his work.

His music has drawn comparisons to artists including Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor and John Prine. His debut album, Under the Influence, released in 2020, explored folk, soul, roots and rock and was recognised by the College Tribune among its Top 30 Irish Albums of the Year. His 2025 EP, Travelling, sees him move further towards folk, Americana and country, with a more stripped-back, roots-driven sound.

Increasingly influenced by Irish songwriters such as Declan O’Rourke and Mick Flannery, Finnian’s music moves naturally between Irish folk, Americana, country and soul without fitting neatly into one category.

His songwriting and vocals have earned praise from fellow artists and critics, with Ciaran Lavery calling him “a meticulous songwriter with a voice to die for,” and David Keenan saying, “When he sings I believe him.” RTÉ Radio 1 described his work as “quite simply delightful,” while Hot Press called it “beautifully exhilarating.”

Whether performing solo or with his band, Finnian’s live shows are built around presence, authenticity and connection. From the soul-inflected Under the Influence to the folk-Americana character of Travelling, he continues to evolve while staying true to what has always been at the heart of his music: a great song, well told.
