Seven days, one tiny pinhole camera, no shutter. Mounted on the beer garden of Exil on Märzstraße in Vienna, looking toward Kardinal-Rauscher-Platz, it recorded the setting sun as a diagonal streak that shifts day by day. On the last day it even caught a solar eclipse. Exposure time: 168 hours, focal length: approx. 32 mm, camera: @the7thday pinhole.

A quick update on the Aperturian Magazine progress. Currently working through magazine template designs, and arranging content for first and upcoming issues. Here is a taster…..
We are working on an in depth interview with fascinating pinhole photographer Gianfranco Lunardo @gianfrancolunardo which promises to make exceptional reading. There is an article on the history and philosophy of the 7th Day Project @the7thday as well as an interesting camera build and practice from Finland, a step by step guide to putting together the terrapin 6x6 3D printed camera, @the_schlem ,fantastic Pinhole Gallery images from Australia, Americas, and Europe. There is still room for more images so send me an email to mike@theaperturian.au with your images and details. Plus historical information and fun facts. So lots to look forward to.
Follow us and keep up to date with the wonderful world of pinhole photography. Image credit @jorma.onkinen #pinholephotography #pinholecameras #pinhole #pinholephotograph #aperturiansociety

The probably longest exposed photo of all times. Exposure time: 8 years.

I discovered this camera by coincidence. It was fixed on a tree on the Münchner Freiheit for 8 years. Normally I leave the cameras there just for a year, but i forgot this camera there over 8 years ago. In this time the hole of the camera got bigger. (Probably the work of a bird). There was also a spider living inside. The photo was not just the work of the sun, but also the work of a spider and a bird. Joseph Nicéphore Niépce would call it „photografies of the nature“.

Camera Obscura 2005/1-Inf is a #worldwide #project in which two holes of a twin-holed pinhole camera are being auctioned simultaneously on #ebay every week. This project is dedicated to the polish artist Roman Opalka and his work 1965/1-∞. The highest bidders in each case receive one after the other a pinhole camera loaded with a piece of unexposed sheet of 5x7 Inch b/w film. They punch a hole with the enclosed needle and expose their own photograph in turn. Because of the minimal distance between the two holes the two photos overlap partly, so that a joint picture emerges, created by two people in different parts of the world. In the course of time a sort of photographic global puzzle will emerge - one continuous series of parallel exposures.
