What happens when children have the talent and the desire to play, but lack the facilities needed to develop their skills?
At Olesere Comprehensive School in the Maasai Mara, the lack of a dedicated basketball court was a gap in the opportunities available to learners. Their interest in sport needed somewhere to grow.
Through WAVE Children’s Foundation and its partners, @orphanedstarfish that began to change.
A basketball court @alfonsofelipe @greicemurphy @the_1_dragon was built. Training opportunities followed. And then came a milestone that deserves to be remembered: Olesere’s basketball team won a Sub-County Championship and competed at county level for the first time in the school’s history.

A great anecdote from Ljubljana, just before Goran’s farewell game. Our Mića Berić on a “serious” mission to recruit Gogi to play at least one season for Partizan. It is always a pleasure to see old friends and feel that true, healthy sporting spirit that unites us all.

17. september 2017 – dan, ko so nas preplavile solze sreče in ponosa! 🥹🇸🇮✨

A to še ni vse – spisali so čisto novo poglavje športne zgodovine! Prav leta 2017 je FIBA predstavila prenovljeni pokal Nikolaja Semaška, naša reprezentanca pa je bila prva, ki ga je zmagoslavno dvignila visoko v zrak! 🏆🔥

Tisti trenutki, tisti neponovljivi občutki in ta mogočna energija nam še danes naježijo kožo. ✨

Danes praznujemo dan slovenske košarke! Kje ste bili vi, ko je zadnji pisk naznanil konec tekme? S kom ste si padli v objem? Zapišite v komentarje in podoživite te nepozabne spomine z nami! 👇💬

Forever a Heat Lifer 🫡 In 2022, the Miami Heat broadcast took a chance on me. I had very little experience on a live sports broadcast. In fact, I’d done one…ever. But the Heat saw something in me that I hadn’t yet seen in myself and brought me into the fold. I have spent the last 4 seasons loving every last second of my job, getting to broadcast heights I never quite thought I’d reach. While it’s unfortunately time to say goodbye to the broadcast for now, I’ll cherish every memory: from the ‘23 NBA Finals run as the Eric Reid coined ‘Good Luck Charm,’ to developing relationships with players, to hearing Jax opening his wallet for ‘Tash Money,’ to interviewing some of my sports heroes… but most of all, getting welcomed into the Heat family by my broadcasting idols with warmth, support, and a constant smile. Whether it was the faces and voices you all know and love or the countless pro’s pros behind the scenes of the broadcast team, I learned from each and every person how to become the best version of myself on TV. I’ve been lucky to grow through some huge stages of my life both personally and professionally while with this group, and I have nothing but the most amazing memories throughout. I’ll forever love having had the chance to work with the crew I got to work with and forever be thankful that the organization took a chance on me and made the dreams come true of a kid who was mesmerized by meeting a rookie Dwyane Wade at Jr. Heat summer camp. Now that I’m no longer with the broadcast team, it’s not like I’m going anywhere. I’ll be covering the team in some new and exciting ways that I hope you’ll all stay tuned for, but in way too many words, I just wanted to make sure I said a proper “thank you.” Forever a Heat lifer.
