Here is the second of the fabulous Frank Usher dresses I wore on my holiday @northcornwallnt #frankusher #frankushervintage Scroll through to see a remarkably similar Christian Dior dress on display @galeriediorparis last December. This dress is courtesy of @madame.e.vintage and features a sumptuous silk rose fabric and internal petticoat to give it that amazing New Look shape. I have styled it with a beaded Hattie Carnigie cocktail hat and vintage beaded bag and gloves @the___vault___ The shoes are the @rogervivier black faille boule heel, first worn by Marlene Dietrich no less. Sadly I forgot to pack any jewellery, so the next time I wear this, I will pair it with a beautiful vintage necklace and earrings to complete this most glamorous of looks!

When you are invited by @rogervivier to a private tour of the Schiaparelli exhibition @vamuseum, 30C + temperatures in London are not going to stop you wearing this incredible Schiaparelli inspired evening dress and cape set by Raphael Weill and Company The White House San Francisco. Schiaparelli was most famous for her evening wear and this ensemble features exquisite gold embroidery and shocking pink cape lining, some Schiaparelli's trade mark features. Scroll through to see some examples of the original gold embroidered garments and a sketch by Jean Cocteau of an outfit remarkably similar to the one I am wearing this evening m. I had so many compliments, including one from one of the exhibition curators, who said this was the most amazing outfit they had seen anyone wear to the exhibition so far! It is very interesting to compare the original Jean Carol 30's silk dress @xtabayvintage with this reproduction viscose Spring Parade dress and bolero @thehouseoffoxy Finding original 30's dresses in excellent condition is rather challenging and only a few vintage sellers: @xtabayvintage @dressbridport @offbroadwayvintage @vantagevintagebtq @madame.e.vintage @katiescornucopia @blacksheepantiques @willowhilsonvintage @sartorialmatters @secretsirenvintage are able to source and restore these rare and unique pieces. I must say that @thehouseoffoxy have done an incredible job on this reproduction, the print is very authentic, the dress is very well cut and beautifully designed. I have paired this with very similar accessories to the orginal vintage Jean Carol dress I posted yesterday, only changing the vintage hat. 30's large straw platter hat @the___vault___ green crocodile deco handbag @handbagsjan 30's crochet gloves @willowhilsonvintage 30's necklace @revival_totnes and @americanduchess shoes @ntsouthdevon

A series of photos: Imagining that I am arriving in style for a dinner at Greenaway in this 1938 Cadillac Buick used to transport Churchill and Eisenhower during World War 2. A spot of music on the Steinaway piano before dinner, surrounded by photos of Agatha Christie and her family. Greenaway is Agatha Christie's summer residence now managed @ntsouthdevon . Checking out the seating arrangements in the delightful dining room. Finally, ascending the splendid Georgian staircase in time for bed! For details of what I am wearing for this occasion: 1930's three piece silk dress, belt and jacket ensemble @dressbridport 1930's party shoes @the___vault___ 1930's black silk Rue St Honore evening bag @handbagsjan and 1930's necklace @revival_totnes @ntsouthdevon @cadillac @cadillacracingofficial @officialagathachristie @agathafestival A huge thanks to @elizabeth.start for taking these amazing photos and @ntsouthdevon for enabling them.

One of the wonderful things about the work that I do is that I'm always learning. The construction techniques employed to create these beautiful garments is sometimes a brain teaser. The fun and sometimes challenging part is recreating it! Form truly follows function. #1960s #georgehalley #metgalagown ##vintagerepairs

Happy National Hat Day! It's the final day of the 2026 National Hat Day Challenge hosted by @vintagehatoftheday and the theme is Hat with a story. I go to the Chelsea Flower Show every year and, weather permitting, try to wear a vintage outfit, sometimes wearing a modern or vintage hat, depending on what works best. In fact, it was rather wet that day and we spent most of the day in the indoor flower marque to escape the rain and spent more than eight hours standing because all the cafes and restaurants were full. We then remembered that we had nothing at home for dinner and had to go on a detour to buy delicious salads and cakes from Ottolenghi, I have never been so glad to sit on the tube. It was worth it though. Over the years, the hat that has received the most compliments at the iconic Chelsea Flower Show, is this beautiful vintage hat with delicate jasmine floral detail, just perfect. #vintagehat #nationalhatdaychallenge2026

20 happy, fabulous, fashionable moments this year. I would definitely post more, because there were indeed more, but alas there’s a limit. I’m just thankful for every wonderful friend, trip and work distraction that made me laugh and smile during 2025.

A beautiful 60's brocade cocktail coat and matching skirt by Vinchi, hand tailored in Hong Kong @the___vault___ The brocade is sumptuous with a floral motif in a 3d effect and matching beadwork. The beadwork and lining has been expertly and painstakingly restored by Joseph's go-to expert @abrashembroidery .....how thrilling to be able to bring these fabulous vintage pieces back to their former glory. It is also true to say, that unless you are buying couture, they simply don't manufacture garments to this incredibly high standard anymore, so it is a real privilege to be able to wear this stylish ensemble. A true work of art that holds its own amongst the treasures of the Wallace Collection @wallacemuseum Kina black patent Mary Janes @carelparis
